Default RS Sway Bar Drop Link Orientation

I am replacing the stock sway bars with the RS adjustable bars and drop links. The stock link has a bend in the middle, but the RS link has the bend closer to one end. This may become apparent as I go to install, (i.e. they will only fit one way), but can anyone confirm whether the bend goes at the top end (hub/wheel carrier) or at the bottom (sway bar). Thanks in advance.

In front on a 2wd it doesn't matter, there's nothing there to interfere w/ it

In back you need t get around the toe link

Thanks for the quick responses guys. So I guess it isn't critical as long as there is no interference...?

Foxman - I do have another question based on your photograph. The stock one's that I removed had the curve in the opposite direction to what you are showing, i.e. on the driver's side, anticlockwise from top to bottom as you are looking at the wheel well. The illustration from the PET also indicates this (although the PET appears to be the beefier C4 curved version). So, are the the RS links installed clockwise top to bottom? Or is that just for the BBI wheel carriers? The right/left RS pieces do have different part numbers.

This is upside down & on the opposite side of where it should go.

993-343-069-80 is the left / driver's side, -070-80 is the right / passenger side.

Paul,

Sorry, yes, this was the best fitment for my setup with the BBi’s. My Indy is a bit of a non-conformist, so he tried them in every position (4) before choosing that layout. The way I have them they are at their most natural for all conditions: full droop, swaybar set full soft, swaybar set full firm, steer lock left, steer lock right, full compression.

The other 3 ways (swap left for right and rightside up or upside down, etc) they would go into bind or collide with other stuff in one or more of the above "conditions"

I’m a bit confused by this too. I installed RS droplinks today and when I put 069 on the driver’s side and 070 on the passenger side, the only way the link will bend is toward the shock (bend facing backward). This seems opposite of what thread is stating. I see confirmation that 069 is driver’s side, but also see that the bend should be toward the front?

Which is correct?

The bend needs to be towards the top. It's there to provide clearance to the brake line with the steering turned all the way.

Towards the top and bent forward, correct?

This makes sense to me but is the opposite of what the part numbers say. 069 is left (driver side) and when installed will bend back toward the rear of the car.

Parts catalog in error, perhaps?

I’m going to swap the links left to right today.

Yes, that’s how I have them now. Can you check the part number stamped on your drop links and tell me which part number is on each side?

According to the parts list, 069 should be left and 070 should be right. I found that it’s the opposite.

I am not able to look under car at present but here are pictures I took of a factory GT2 using the same bar kit and RS uprights as in my picture above.

For the RS front arb, can you use the turbo front drop links? Or do they have to be the RS specific drop links?
