since you were giving some thanks to gert at carnewal, i thought to also publicly praise steve weiner of rennsportsystems.
think about all of the free NON-SPAM advice everyone gets from him and he doesn't exactly expect anything in return.
but when you deal with the guy, he ships the bloody parts before he even gets your money! i think i'll have my new strut tower brace before my check clears his business' bank account.
thanks again, SW. this porsche thing is pretty decent; what a pleasure to be in this "world" after the BMW world and its associated baggage.

Cokey:
Good post. I have had the same experience with Steve as have you. He is extremely knowledgeable, supremely helpful and always willing to work through any thoughts you may have. I just wish he weren’t so geographically undesirable from Atlanta!

Ditto !
Steve has made my 993 ownership even more of a pleasure than anticipated through his obvious dedication to this marque, model and followers.
All too often we owners over focus on the seemlingly simple up front money savings at time of purchase by buying from the absolute lowest cost source without considering some of the folks who put in the time to make all of these parts actually work when a kit gets marketted.
This said, my hat is off to Steve for the many callbacks, walkthru's that came with the parts. The parts were also shipped in a very timely manner.
This thread / posts are more than deserved...
Thanks !

Me too, the first time he said he'd ship the brake pads off that afternoon via UPS and let me know what the total w. shipping came out to the next day -- so I could send him the check -- I got very confused!
I was so touched that it's still possible for people to do business that way, I got a little verclempt!

Ditto the positive feedback on Steve. I just installed his chip into my 95. UPSd before my check was in the mail. Great experience all around and a USAF man to boot!

I was about to post this very comment as last Thursday, Steve spent about 45 minutes of his valuable time on the phone explaining all of the details about a problem that I am experiencing (with my car). He does not profit from this, but I certainly hope that he does in the long run as he is a terrific person and deserves the best.
He is an invaluable asset.
Thank you Steve <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />

yeah, i think i appreciate this especially after dealing with Steve Dinan and his BMW tuning corporation and Jim Conforti (famous/infamous BMW programmer).
Dinan, well, i cannot blame him because his company is run by a board and they sell things which are of dubious value for cars and their tech people are just okay and their sales staff is pure worthless consumption of oxygen.
JC? he's an arrogant pig and he revels in it; he'll never stop to tell you that it's his gig, a hobby, and if it doesn't please you, well...tkae a hike. in general, that's fine, but the man is simply a hacker who rewrites code. not some invaluable automotive resource.
hence, my surprise at how helpful SW has been and how he does business with rennlisters. very pleasant, very factual and straight up.
