Thumbs up Found a Tx floor coating contractor

Wanted to share what I've found. Haven't had them do the work yet, but I'm pretty optimistic based on the quality of their website and the conversation I had w. one of the principles today.

<a href="http://www.moeniumpainting.com/" target="_blank">http://www.moeniumpainting.com/</a>

They do work in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, and points in between. They'd really rather wait until spring to do the garage floor paint job, as a steady ~70 degree temperature will produce the best long-term results. Which is fine by me, I'm not in a big rush. And the price they estimated is pretty reasonable for farming out the job - ~$800 for a 550 square foot garage.

They guarantee the end result, assuming I give them 5 days to do the job and 3 additional days of cure time before driving on it. What gives me the most confidence in this outfit is the overwhelming sense of terminal OCD that came through the phone line.

Anyhow, assuming my neighbor can stand to loan me his garage for all my stuff for a full 8-10 days, I think I'm going to go ahead & pull the trigger on this and get them to come do the work come springtime.

Cool. Unfortunately I don't believe our garage is worth the effort =(. Were you going to have them do a flat color or use thier ability to replicate different flooring types for a checkered floor?

Just a plain-jane light grey, I think. They said they could do any color I wanted, so I think I'll have to give the wife a say, too

How about a nice compromise...............I'd say grey and red checkered <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" /> That would really open some eyes up everytime your garage door is up

Honestly though, my dad gave the mom a say in garage color and its now lime green. You better watch out.

Also anyone else notice the aluminum racing jacks at speedware motorsports for $299? Looks like a great price and was wondering if anyone had any experience using them.

Mind those aluminum jacks -- check the weight rating, some are meant for little open-wheeled 1,200# cars. I tried to lift up one side of my 993 with one of those things before I realized the jack was out of its weight class

The other thing I've learned from READING THE ARCHIVES is that the quality can vary greatly on those lightweight models. I like my huge heavy Danish model

Doesn't anybody ELSE want to be the guinea pig?? <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" />

Actually, DJ, one thing to keep in mind - this outfit gets busy come springtime, they tell me. They recommended I contact them about 4-6 weeks ahead of time for a March job!
