I had a new one put in mine a few years ago (OE Porsche). I was there the whole time to make sure it was centered. I even made little spacer blocks to help him locate it. I lost way too much sleep beforehand and decided this was the best way. It turned out perfect BTW. Its critical so that your seals are located properly (as Im sure you know) . Also get pictures of the window channel showing there isnt any rust.

When I had my windshield replaced, I knew and trusted the installer. We found some minimal rust damage, and addressed it all while the windsheild was out. I'd make sure you ask for pics if you can't be present when the windshield comes out.

I would definitely stay and watch. I would not let them install the outer seal (cover) prior to windshield install (they did on mine and therefore could not properly "center" the WS in the opening.) 90% of these guys are all about speed. And, you definitely want to see for yourself any potential rust.
You need a consistent gap all around, or the outer seal will not reach the painted surface, and will tend to fall in the gap. Also, they should not press the WS too far into the aperture or, again, the outer seal will not reach. Templates are available to confirm these things. You only get one shot to get it right. My installer would not touch it, even after I took it back and showed him the offset he created. Fortunately, after buying and returning 3 outer covers, I finally found one of the 2mm wider versions and it covers the gap.

My rear channel cracked and found OE front avalable
Thinking of doing both at the same time but adding strut brace
Thoughts?
Best of Luck with a Steady Hand and Good Eye for Detailed workmanship!!

Guy has been doing local Porsche stuff privately and for the dealership approx 25 years so I am hopeful. I am running it through insurance and the glass is Pilkington.
