O how I wish. About a decade ago a medical issue effectively ended all spirits intake. Man, I could appreciate a top shelf margarita with the best of you -

I will be getting mine done in spring. I have about 60,000 miles, 8 years of track, a long crack below the wiper blades since day 1, and a nice rock chip from last year.

With the track pitting, I am due and EXCITED.

Will let everyone know how I make out - and may be back with questions in advance.

Cheers

Matt

Sounds as if you're in the midst of an Ace Tech knowing the 993 issue first hand. This isn't his first 993 windshield rodeo, no?

Best of luck ... Connect to mapquest.com how far is Mountville, PA ???

I’d be right there watching making sure they install that chet correctly. Safelite did my WS several years ago with Pilkington. They showed me the channel prior to fitting new glass. Fit and finish were perfect. Good luck!

And, you definitely want to see for yourself any potential rust.

You need a consistent gap all around, or the outer seal will not reach the painted surface, and will tend to fall in the gap. Also, they should not press the WS too far into the aperture or, again, the outer seal will not reach. Templates are available to confirm these things. You only get one shot to get it right. My installer would not touch it, even after I took it back and showed him the offset he created. Fortunately, after buying and returning 3 outer covers, I finally found one of the 2mm wider versions and it covers the gap.

Prayers are with you...
The outer seal can be an issue. I picked up a seal that was too narrow from the dealer. I finally got the correct width but be aware that there are two sizes, same part number (one incorrect). Hopefully the dealer network has addressed the problem by now.
