Pricing advice for my '98 C2S
I am going through a divorce and need to sell off some assets including my 1998 Zenith Blue 911 C2S. I need some pricing guidance and appreciate the RL community helping me out here.
The car was originally a Tip from California. I bought it a few years ago and had it repainted in its factory color (Zenith Blue). This was a glass out, proper respray. The mileage is 80,xxx. I bought a 1995 C2 with 29K miles and had a Tipectomy performed with all factory parts. The car was fairly well equipped with supple leather, turbo hollow spokes and mostly stock minus Bilstein HD shocks. The wheels and calipers (now black as per factory) were refinished during the respray and the car has nearly new Michelin Pilot tires all around.
The interior is in fair condition 6 out of 10. No dash cracks but the driver's seat and carpet is tired.
So, if I put this up for sale tomorrow (may have to happen) what is a fair asking price, based on the information provided?

Wait, I'm confused. You replaced the Tip with a 6-speed? Because that photo looks like it's still a tip to me....? You might be best served to post some pics as to how the car looks NOW, after the paint job and calipers painted etc.
Anyway, pricing threads aren't usually welcome here, but I can tell you a great saw I once heard: "Oh, marriage is grand. Thing is, divorce is 500 grand.."
Good luck with what looks to be a nice C2S

Unlike most "what's my 993 worth" threads, I think this one has some validity, is a unique car (transmission transplant), and a Rennlister needs some help (due to marital).
Maybe this is a time a Rennlister can help another Rennlister.

Use some of your half of the house equity to buy her "half" of the 993. I'm serious......is that an option? None of my business so I don't expect a comment.....just food for thought. Such a shame to have to lose a beautiful C2S. That car is stunning. Good luck with however it works out.

The exterior pics are post respray minus the corrected calipers to black. They painted them more of a burgundy so I had them return them to factory black. Really the only change on the inside is I had the odometer changed out to a proper manual version, removed paddles off the steering wheel and the shifter boot is grey to match. The condition is representative of its current state.

I would imagine you could scour all the SOLD cars on eBay, Cars.com, Autotrader etc and come up with a number. Add some for the nice new paint job, subtract some for the tipectomy and the tired interioir and then adjust for your mileage.
My pull-a-number-or-two-out-of-my-*** meter tells me $50K could move this thing pretty quick, and at $80K it would take a long long time.
So, then the question becomes, how fast do you wanna sell it? Tomorrow? List it for $50K or less. Got time to wait? Ask more.
But I really have no idea. And, really neither does anyone else.
Good luck
I forgot to mention a few items:
*LSD
*LWF
*Factory Cup LSD - rebuilt
*Golden Rod
Not that this adds significant value but I had the motor pulled and all the "might as wells" taken care of while it was out.

Well, let me rephrase.
Your photos may not be old, but the photos you posted don't show the car with the tipectomy nor the calipers, etc. Therefore, they don't represent the car as it sits now. Obviously, someone interested in buying your car, or helping you price it, would want to see how the car looks now, not what it looked like before the pertinent work was done, regardless of days. Make sense?

Thank you for clarifying. This is not the "for sale" post. I just need to get an idea of value for my attorney. I will properly show the car when/if I sell.

Wow, what a beautiful car! I'm truly sorry about your circumstances. It's tough to determine the value of the car due to everything done, but I'd say anywhere between $80-110K. Selling this car at the end of the driving season will probably not bring the most money for it. I suggest taking really good pics and then listing it on Bring a Trailer with a reserve you are happy with. Best of luck!
Here are some interesting recent sales that might help you. Note the condition and mileage of each and maybe it can help you set your price

having just bought a '97 6sp 4S i have looked at many a possibility out there.
Lets see, if I were still looking for a car:
-1998 THE last of the air cars... a plus. cannot improve on that.
-C2S "low" number production at, what, 1600 or so cars?... a big plus. cannot improve on that.
-zenith blue recently re-sprayed... a big plus. super rare, beautiful color for most people. hard to find, cannot improve on that.
-aero kit... big plus if OEM. these OEM parts are becoming rare/expensive. If they are replicas, still a plus, but way less worth.
-80,xxx miles... minus. Car is in the gray area (I would pay a premium for <40k and expect a big discount for >100k).
-"tired" interior (hard to tell from pics, but will take your word for it)... small minus, it can be refurbished.
-transmission swap... big minus. originality way lost with this one. availability of original transmission undetermined, and god knows how much it would cost these days to return to original.
Bottom line, a car that would have all of the pluses (near perfect) and no minuses would be in the 110-120 range.
I would think 75-80k
Of course, it's worth what someone is willing to pay.
For divorce purposes, I would think 60k is "more realistic". You pay her 30k, keep the car, and then sell above that. Is this legal?
Good luck!
