Apparently there is a shop manual supplement for the Targa but I don't have it yet. There are lots of screws/bolts/adjustments that you can play with on these roofs...so I thought reading the manual might help. My roof is pretty quiet but I am not sure if its adjusted properly. Some questions though...
1 - Anyone want to comment on how flush the three panels are on their cars (I don't have many examples to work from). My understanding is the front panel (vent) is supposed to be slightly proud of the main panel (the slider), and that is supposed to be slightly proud of the rear fixed window. I think having it proud eliminates any whistles.
2 - I would like to move the front panel forward on the car, it appears to be riding just on the edge of the seal that is on the front of center sliding panel and is quite high compated to the sliding panel. Maybe I need to post a picture.
I do get the occasional creaking from the roof but if I lube up the tracks with silicon it quiets up. I also run PSS-9's so the suspension is pretty firm. But I accept noise is part of the 911 so it does not bother me. No noises from the windshield.
Cheers,
Mike
