Looking like a 4 month winter here in the northeast this year. Plus another 1-2 months to fix the roads after spring does arrive. What did I do with my 992? Looked at it in the garage. I’m quickly realizing that to enjoy a car like this, you have to live in a sunbelt state.
Metro NY daily driver my only restriction is when there's snow that keeps me out of my work garage. Yesterday we had a rain/melt day from friday nights snowstorm, was a glorious drive- no traffic holiday week -glad I didnt have to leave it - needs a wash!
Very cold day. Drove on the flat Kansas backroads for 90 minutes, then performed a Rinseless Wash on my car, in my garage with my space heater blasting.

Cold (30F) but gorgeous sunny day in the larger Seattle area. Woke up the car from winter sleep, went on a great drive along and over the lakes, and said hello to the Space Needle. My five month old 911 Carrera S. 4,500 miles driven. All a blast.
520 bridge over Lake Washington. Fog over Puget Sound. Olympic Mountains poking out in the distance (60 miles west of Seattle). Shot through the windshield… kinda proud of how this came out.
The Seattle Space Needle shot through the car’s glass sunroof while stopped at an intersection.
Can’t wait for many more driving moments in 2026.
Happy New Year EVERYONE!!

Or the mountains. Or get winter tires and avoid the bad roads.
Generally required to run winter tires from Sept 1-May 31 due to snow potential. I go, generally, from mid October to mid April due to morning temps dipping to freezing.
Installed the center radiator duct that had arrived while we travelled. It clips right in. It is the final part I needed to complete the 3rd radiator retrofit.

Did a drive to Old Car City USA in White, GA. with a gaggle of Porsches and folks from the north Atlanta area. This place is 32 acres with with more than 4,000 vintage vehicles spread across 6 miles of trails in a forested setting. Some great photo opportunities for sure. Didn't even know it was in the area! About a 100 mile round trip that included some excellent country roads on the way home!
Our winters are mild, but usually foggy all morning and just breaking 40F right about 2-3PM... about an hour before it gets dark in the mountains.
So on my days off the past two months I keep thinking today's the day I'm gonna finally wash them...
...but there's only about an hour before dark for a drive...
...I'll wash 'em in the spring.
