That’s only to knock down resonance. For the noise you need noise barrier. Resonix sells the good stuff. I used fibermat on mine. My car is very pleasant. Did all the fender liners. The interior is done with CLD tiles not the outside of the fenders. I just stuck some fibermat to the liners and mounted them back.

Admittedly I didn't research NVH and just threw these on as an experiment while reassembling. EDIT: Resonix website is really informative.

I spent a few hours detailing the car this evening. She’s clean as a whistle now. On the way home somebody pulled up next to me and said my car gives them Cup Car vibes. I took that as a compliment.
