Default 992.2 GTS engine fault

Hi,

After only 1000km i was driving on a highway speeding 110km/hr I got the massage engine control fault and the car cut power.
the car was cruising with no power until I stopped on the sideway.
turned off the engine for 5min and turned back on and everything is fine and drove home.

Will take it to the dealer tomorrow and see whats the problem.

.2 GTS here. Zero problems so far ~1500 miles.
No doom to be found.

This message has appeared three times with my 2018 (991.2) GTS. As soon as I saw the message (mine was in yellow and said it was ok to continue driving) for the first time, I took it to the dealer. They put it on their computer and the service advisor said it was a random fault (??), did a reset and sent me on my way. The second and third time the message appeared, I drove the car as usual and a day or two later the message disappeared. There appears to be no residual problems.

I'll be interested to see what your dealer says...

Yeah it happened with my cayenne 2020 twice and the power decreased and thats it everything normal after few minutes. But cutting power completely on the 992 is so annoying especially in highway 😶.

Update: the dealer found nothing wrong with the car just cleared everything but they told me there is a software update from PORSCHE for the car i hope it wont happen again

Many of us would be very interested in the specific details of this software update so that we can have them applied.

Not exactly big news. The recall process applied to software updates is byzantine, and happens during SOP (start of production).

The whole hybrid system, even the engine are managed by an ECU (computer control) running software, and it's great an update can be trivially applied compared to other recalls that require physical parts, removed and added. Tesla and Chinese car manufacturers do software updates all the time, and it's a trivial occurrence.

Fixing it at the factory or at the dealer on delivery wont matter for software.

I appreciate the heads up for my GTS, and will inquire with service on having the update applied if not already.

Ditto. I'll be asking them to make sure that update is applied on mine coming in hopefully around the 23rd.

Hi, sorry for the misunderstanding, I meant that the news of a global recall was an important and relevant news. If I've understood correctly this is just a software update, but has to be done at the factory or by the dealer. I just hope it won't delay production and it's fast for the owners out there.
