Default Steering wheel question

I have this little silver “****” next to the lever for the manual steering wheel adjustment. Any idea what this is for? Can’t figure it out. It’s a 2022 Targa GTS

This is very odd.

Here is a picture on mine. I do not have that ****/stub at the bottom of my steering wheel.

If I had to guess, I think the previous owner screwed that stub in, in order to attach some type of equipment, perhaps a hidden radar detector?

My other guess is, I wonder if this could be used to attach some kind of concealed carry holster. I don’t know anything about guns, so perhaps some of our more knowledgeable members here could comment on that theory.

I’m 90% sure that’s the driver eject button.

Could it be a left over piece for an after market anti-theft device?

Can you feel inside if there are any wires or electronics that it’s connected to?

If you bought this used, I’d ask your dealer to reach out the previous owner and ask them.
