does it split when a car is coming at you or you just get that carpet thing?
The light shifts when you change lanes. Mostly it lights up the lane in front unless there is a car and then it shortens. Even if you pass another vehicle, say a truck, it lights up your lane only next to the truck. It only works this way on multi lane highways like interstates. I was using my blinker to indicate the pending direction change and then you saw the carpet fill both lanes until it settled to one after the lane change. Hope that helps.

So that's the only thing it does is that carpet effect and it only works on highways? 10 years ago when you could still program BMW's they had their anti-dazzle feature that would carve out areas around cars.

You missed the other post. I don’t know about your BMW but I’ve had many of those as well all the way back to my 320i. I’ve never had someone come up to me in one of my BMWs…

You mean come up to you and say something like "nice car"?

From a Porsche Dec 2024 Press Release regarding HD LED Matrix Headlights:
High beam with auxiliary high beam (high-performance high beam)
Non-dazzling high beam with new function (the light splits the oncoming car)
Lane illumination
Construction and narrow-lane light
Adaptive motorway high beam
Animation as greeting and send-off
Here is a Porsche video describing the new lights:
I keep hearing that "Mars" is the man to contact, but is that rnlst_log or 718socal? Keep seeing both of these names in the thread but I'm not sure who is the one to contact.

I got the HD Matrix activated on my 992.2 T a couple of days ago by @rnlst_log (Mars) with the help of @dixonk (Kevin) who supplied the power supply, PIWIS tablet, and VCI. A huge thank you to both for a smooth process in getting this done on my car. It was a bit of a gamble when I put the order in for the T in mid January with the HD Matrix lights optioned because the 992.2 light coding hadn't been cracked yet, but two weeks after the order went in, this thread was started. The process was the same as described above by @MartinHines and @vanlieremead . It's very satisfying to see the lights in action first hand since the videos don't it justice. I'm now looking for opportunities to take the long way home at night on the darker roads.
These are the menu items that are used to control the lights after the coding:
@rmrmd1956@Nicky1Finn Thaks you so much for exploring these twilight settings. I am going to explore this on my Cayenne.....should be the same ? It seems that rmrd1956 has found optimum setting of 10/15
I am wondering however on the logic of increasing the values, are we going the right way ? What happened when decrteased, did they not turn on at all,??
Thanks !
The stock values, at least for me, were: Bitfield Activation_brightness: 1.50 Bitfield Deactivation_brightness: 6.00

yes, reducing value of activation brightness delays high beam activation and decreasing value of deactivation brightness turns off matrix high beams in lower light conditions. There is no “optimum” setting ‘cause it depends on the ambient light in your situation. I drive the same route most of the time so played with values ‘til I was satisfied. Currently at 6/20 and haven’t blinded anyone yet.
