Hahah. I set a cap once. Then I decided I wanted what I wanted on a >$150k car. Lesson learned.
IIRC The pre wire saves the hassle of having to run a wire from the passenger fuse box to tap into. You can also make a harness that clips in directly to the pre wire so that it looks OEM and can be put back to stock just by unclipping. I'm in that situation now so I'll take some pics.
