Be careful. Freeze dates have been known to move forward without warning. You should always have your most preferred build submitted.

☝️ mine moved up from Dec 10
to Dec 1st so luckily I had my preferred build submitted already.

on a related note - any info on typical time lag between freeze date and manufacturing start?

I understand and have sent in my most recent build just to be safe. They told me end of January but I have no desire to wait that long, thanks!

IIRC The pre wire saves the hassle of having to run a wire from the passenger fuse box to tap into. You can also make a harness that clips in directly to the pre wire so that it looks OEM and can be put back to stock just by unclipping. I'm in that situation now so I'll take some pics.
