Default Did I Go Overboard with My New Carrera T Spec?

I couldn't get a GTS allocation and I liked the Carrera T and was able to get an allocation back in March.
Just got the car delivered a couple of weeks ago and figured I would do a video for those still waiting for their car to come in, or those figuring out what options go to with but after adding everything up, I wonder if maybe I went a little overboard with all of the options I got on my Carrera T?

Fast forward to 7 minute mark for the spec and all of the options...

$166k for a T? I guess it’s your money but man even my ‘24 S build decently loaded didn’t cost that

Very nice build! What matters is you got the options that you like. Friend got a Carrera T and had a sticker right around $160k. Bucket, aerokit, full leather and a few other things.

If the car is a keeper (as in at least 3-4 years) then you being happy is all that matters. It's very easy to get carried away on the configurator but it does enable you to build a car that's exactly the way you want. Life is short, enjoy the ride!

Well let's see... The base price of the Carrera S is $131,300 and Carrera T is $124,900 so we're talking about a $6k difference in base price. Not a major difference.
I think people assume the Carrera T starts at the base Carrera price ($114,000), but not the case.

Could you not get an GTS?I feel like the T should be light on add-ons to match its “minimalistic” attempt at being a baby GT car (driving focused with few Nannie’s) but I guess it works I like the gloss kit

Yes, you went overboard but the part about not getting an allocation for GTS explains some things.

Congrats!

Could not get a GTS allocation or any other allocation for that matter... But I was able to get GTS turbos for like $5,500 or something like that.

Without question, it's a beautiful car. Congrats!

Since you asked, the one thing I would probably have done, given it's a T, is stick with a more minimalist approach. Porsche's intent was to offer a lightweight touring model with weight saving features like thinner glass and less insulation. But with options like 18way seats, sunroof, aerokit, rear seats and PDK instead of a 6 speed manual more than 200 pounds was added back. Oh well, TEHO. It IS lovely.

Build is nice. You like it.... all that matters.

Great looking car.

Not getting the T specific Slate or Lizard Interior Package is something people are missing out on.

Also changing out T only color on the wheels to black and now they don't match the mirrors is odd.

As a fellow “over spec” T orderer and owner, I say it’s great! Like you, I had no status and could not get any love for a GTS or other “special” model but honestly really like mine. Hope you are enjoying yours as much as I am mine. You know you’ve crossed the line when even the sales advisor says “well that’s fully spec’d”.
