992.2 - Initial Thoughts
Notes below in no particular order:
- I've driven (but not owned) multiple trims of the 992.1, the 992.2 is a bit quieter on the interior, more GT-like. My sales agent also agrees.
- The front re-design looks much slicker with the turn signal inside the headlight.
- The drive feels more refined and torquey up to about 100mph than the 992.1 C2. As a daily, it's seems the right amount of power and playfulness. Tight steering and communication as expected of a 911.
- The push button and no-tach doesn't bother me, but that's what I'm used to. I like that I can put the nav map entirely on the dash like in Audis.
- I was worried about the driving nannies given the EU regulations. Fortunately there's no speed limit beeping or notification at all. Lane assist can be permanently turned off. Auto start/stop is still an issue, but rectified with driving in sport mode.
- There's a stylish groove in the piano black columns of the center console now, may make installing magsafe accessories an issue vs the previous flat surface.
- I can get 500+ miles per extended tank vs my previous ~300mile range on my previous heavier V8s
- Same carplay connectivity issues like my previous German cars. First start of the day --> 20 seconds to detect carplay. Park for groceries and start up again --> takes 5-10minutes to connect to phone even with USB. Very annoying, not sure how to resolve this.
Just my 2 cents.

So basically sequence of events are either:
Start in normal --> diamond dash to turn off auto start/stop
Start in normal --> sport mode

Have you tried parking somewhere, taking the phone with you, and coming back within 10-15 minutes without a reconnection issue?
This seems to be a consistent German carmaker issue, never had this issue elsewhere...
