Aren't the 992.1 Exclusive Design wheels the same as the 992.2 Carrera Classic wheels with the only difference being that the 992.2's are painted gloss black instead of silver? Given, I think the all silver 992.1 ED wheels are better looking without the black, but to each his own.

Pretty much. The .2 wheels are cast whereas the .1s are forged. More importantly, I just like the brighter appearance of the .1s.

Ahhhh... that's the difference. I spec'd the Exclusive Designs on my '24 and knew they were forged- didn't know that about the 992.2s, I thought it just might be the color. My favorite wheel in the best color scheme, so I agree with you. The brightness just looks so good.

She's as happy or happier than I am about this purchase. I totally understand that the .2s are coming in a month or so, but I don't love some of the changes. Especially the disappearance of the analog tach and twist to start. Maybe i'm way off, but in 5 years, 10 years the 992.1 could be considered more desirable because it's the last 911 w/ the analog tach.

Perhaps I tell the dealer, "Hey, I think I'd rather just order a '25 for all the various reasons and wait until Spring." Maybe they come back with a discount on the 24?

I built out a .2 in the configurator last night and I ended up at 149k and that included club leather and other goodies this .1 does not have. However, you cannot get the same ED wheels on the .2 and I do love them!
I think you said it all in the third sentence..."She's as happy or happier than I am about this purchase"...no other reason matters.

Letting the dealer know that you'll be walking away for any reason will not lower the price on this .1 or a .2 992...there is too much demand at this time.

Buy it and enjoy it now!

Good luck!

If we're dispensing advice: It'd be great if you wouldn't quote the whole post if it's that long.

Yep, couldn't agree more. When I saw the wheels in person I knew we were doomed. Was hopeful a build last night would yield the same, but no joy.

Buy the car. Drive the f*** out of it.

If you get nervous about stains / bumps etc, I recommend the following. Go to Home Depot. Get a bag of potting soil. Open car door. Open potting soil. Throw in car. Vacuum out. Worries gone.

Being OCD about cars is a bad state.

Buy the car TODAY. Tomorrow is promised to nobody, enjoy it now instead of waiting six months or so and paying more.

I think all of us "over think" our 911 purchase the first time.

Virtually everyone has said some version of: If you like it ... Buy it, Drive it, at MSRP you are getting a good deal.

Just do it.

I'd check for reputable independents for both PPF (at least front end) and ceramic coating - you may be able to find out who your Porsche dealer uses and go direct. I never had ceramic on top of PPF until my 992 and it's awesome.
Ceramic coating on your chalk leather is easy to apply yourself - I did it on my Silverstone leather M6 and it was easy.
