Ive searched the forums and read the (useless) owners manual.
I have one phone connected to CarPlay (wireless). Occasionally I carry a second iPhone. Both phones have been connected to the pcm.
if Im using the CarPlay phone to listen to media and if someone calls the second phone it doesnt ring through the car but on the phone. If I cant switch phones quickly enough on the screen I miss the call. Is there a way to make it ring through the car automatically? Previous BMWs all did this pretty seamlessly.
you should set up the second (virtual) sim on your iPhone for your second line. that way you don't have to carry two phones. and solves your CarPlay issue. and makes you look like less of a corporate drone.

thanks for the advice (as unhelpful as it is). Im no corporate drone. If I wanted to use one phone I could but I have and need two. So ..
Following because our BMW does only 1 phone at a time and we cant figure out how to do 2 phones. We can only connect one CarPlay at a time.
BMW does one CarPlay phone at a time but if second (non CarPlay) phone rings it automatically switches from CarPlay to the call and then back. Current m4 and 330 do this. Previous 2020 mini also did this.
Have you tried connecting the second phone using the USB connector in the arm rest console. (I havent tried it myself, but wondering if it would work).
With Mercedes, you can have Apple CarPlay though the USB-C cable, while another phone can be connected via Bluetooth only, allow phone calls through the 2nd phone. May be Porsche does the same?

I tried to get my iPhone connected via CarPlay to coexist with a second Android phone connected via Bluetooth. Sorry, it doesn't work and the 992 appears to disable the second bluetooth device as soon as CarPlay is activated. I tried with both wireless and wired CarPlay - No success.

How are you switching phones? If you can disable CarPlay fast enough then your car should restore the second phone's bluetooth connection. Alternatively you can try setting "no answer/busy forward" (Conditional Call Forwarding) on your second phone so it forwards the call to your first (CarPlay) phone if you don't pickup.

thanks!
Seems like CarPlay is your issue. What media are you listening to via CarPlay? Can you access it directly through the PCM?
Ive decided to make sure my podcasts are loaded on the secondary phone so I can listen to them in the car when I have to carry that phone, and not risk missing a call. The podcasts get synchronized over both phones so its not a big deal, just a bit of planning beforehand.
Bummed that Porsche doesnt have the same high level and ease of connectivity that BMW does, but hasnt reduced at all my appreciation of the 911.

just got an update to PCM that says two phones are now permitted via Bluetooth. I'd say I have tested it but I am just a pawn with only one phone.
