lol at losing weight idea.. I’m 5’11” and only 176-180 so it’s not that… HOWEVER, my T is PDK, has glass sunroof, aerokit, rear seats AND 18 way power seats so maybe all that makes it too heavy…

and I know Renntech is the go to for AMG GT etc although I didn’t do it to mine… but they were trusted and held warranty with Mercedes for the most part… Ferrari, you can’t even say the word ‘tune’ or your warranty is insta POOOF… so was curious who does Porsche proper tunes in south Florida… I made a relationship with a SW at Champion so I’ll ask him I guess too.

You don’t need to go turbo/s. If you like your t and just want more power an S or GTS will be just fine. I feel like my S is enough power, but just barely. Drive both..one will suit you given your description of the problem.

oh, I didn’t know there was a difference of S and turbo S— aren’t they the same thing? And don’t know if GTS is more power or less than that… I’m still learning Porsche, slowly, so don’t know all the models. I thought it was base, T, S, GTS and then the GT3, GT2 and 918… is that correct ascending trim levels?

In order (not including GT or special cars): Base < T < S < GTS < TT < TTS

Carrera S is same motor as your T with bigger turbos, Carrera GTS same motor as the S with more boost and some other go fast bits. You can in theory tune your T to GTS and beyond power levels especially by upgrading the turbos, plenty of examples of people doing so on here. The Turbo/Turbo S get a different larger motor, and make big power. They are AWD/PDK only currently and a different beast from the Carreras, hence the Turbo badging. Even though the Carreras have turbos these days, which is what makes them so tunable.

I think you would like a Turbo, but the GTS also makes good power. One of the appeals of the T to me was the ability to tune it later if I want more power, but I understand hesitation to do so vs just get the faster car that porsche already makes.

I got to just smile and enjoy this thread ...another question from our friend who owns/owned 26+ high end sport cars including Ferraris and some....but ask how launch control works, that there is a difference between a S and TTS, and now needs his T to go as fast as one of his other supercars but does not want to moidy or risk loosing warranty. Sure, but I can't shake a certain feeling here...

Yes, the S and GTS have more power. On paper. But most of the time you're not going to feel that additional power.

That's where the TT/TTS comes in. You definitely feel the additional grunt. It's almost unavoidable.

Just get the TTS and be done with it.

All the power you will ever need and then some.

excellent explanations and thank you.. I think i get it now.... last clarifications, TT means twin turbo and that's a model all by itself? and not all 911's are Carreras? I thought these were all variations/trim levels of the 911 Carrera? Thanks again.... Maybe I'll trade one day if I stay with Porsches but for now, I'll just enjoy the T as it is if there isn't a fairly easy, quick, safe tune that is a noticeable difference. I'm not gonna get into upgrading turbos and adding exhausts etc and all that. Thanks again for the suggestions and explanations of Porsche models. Like I've said in the past, I just NEVER paid attention to Porsche so it's fun to actually learn a new brand since I know pretty much all other brands inside and out.

you all know how it works, I originally (and impulsively) bought it to daily drive and have a little fun but being a car guy, I guess now I'm naturally looking for it to be MORE. No matter what we buy in higher end cars, we always look for more I guess lol....

I disagree. It's all relative. My Plaid feels slow to me these days.

I’ve gained confidence in its handling and braking thankfully but it’s just so slow that it’s annoying me. When I stomp on it, it makes a bunch of noise that sounds pretty good but doesn’t go anywhere… to the point where I can actually say and laugh to my passenger, ‘it sounds pretty good right? but we aren’t going anywhere; sounds like we’re going fast though’ … all before it even shifts to the next gear.

so, what is the best way to increase the speed of these cars? Is there a tune available that WONT damage anything or set off CELs? Tune plus exhaust maybe? Something not too expensive or that will not hurt the reliability or mechanics of the car? I’m VERY in favor of leaving cars alone and believe they are best from the factory, especially with Ferrari but maybe there’s something less risky for Porsche that I can have done WITHOUT voiding warranty… is Porsche **** about tunes and voiding warranties like Ferrari is? Or are they ok with a reasonable tune and will still keep warranty in tact?

thanks guys for any real world advice. Who has tuned theirs or done some other mod to make theirs faster, quicker?
F8T and 911T:...I've had the best cars money can buy but never modded one and I never will. If I don't like a car that I buy, I get rid of it and move on. If the T doesn't work for you, it doesn't work for you...move on and find one that you can live with. It's like a pair of shoes, they fit and they feel just OK (sometimes), so you don't wear them very much and eventually, you get rid of them. As far as warranties: Porsche warranty will not cover, among other things, any modification not authorized by PCNA. (Source: MY 2024 Porsche Warranty and Customer Information page 5 and 6). Another thing, many will tell you that their warranties are not affected by their particular mod. Well, be that as it may, it's nothing more than hearsay and I'd take it for just that. Porsche and Porsche alone decides when a warranty is voided.

All that said...here's
a suggestion: take a look at one of the Porsche Experience Centers. Do the comparative experience of the 911 Turbo S and the 911 GT3 and see how it feels to leave your gonads in the back seat. Good luck Bud!

I would say if he owns a F8 that would be the emotion of driving.
The Porsche GT cars I would personally consider the moniker you attempt to put on a T
