Thanks everyone for all the feedback. To add some context, the 911 is my only car and daily driver.

I mostly drive local streets which the car has been fine except for long distance trips then the car is not the most ideal.

Not sure my experience will help but our second car life cycle the past few years Tesla Model 3P (EV) - Jeep Wrangler 4XE (PHEV) - 911 (Ice). There is a reason EV sales are plummeting. You will be excited at first and disappointed by end of lease. I'd also consider the Taycan - last I heard they were running 30k off MSRP for leases.

If you want an EV, just buy the model Y. It's really the best overall EV made, and for what EVs do/provide its a nice vehicle. It really isn't worth it to pay more for any EV, depreciation on those is going to be massive (look at the Mercedes EQ offerings in the secondary market, if there even is a secondary market for them).

I would find it very hard to live with the user interface and quality of the Model Y. Apparently they have now improved it a bit, but the ride in the earlier Ys was extremely harsh and unsettled, to the point of making the car really unpleasant to drive on anything but very smooth roads. I've rented a Y three times, and all of them had a terrible ride and various quality issues (including one that had a few thousand miles on the clock but already had a trunk that made a terrible creaking and groaning noise when it was opened). If the ride is improved, and you get one without quality glitches, then I guess it's OK as an appliance. My Ioniq 5 daily is much nicer to drive.

I hate the quality and ownership experience of EVs. Someone said it, customer service is non existent. There's no such thing as warranty, even if it's on paper.

The model Y is the best all rounder for sure, only reason for not buying one is the lack of a driver side dash cluster. So I bought the model S plaid.... for my wife. Yes, the build quality is total ***. 2022, 9k miles, a hair over 50% off MSRP. One owner. They're probably 60-70% off MSRP at this point.

Don't plan on hooning around in a plaid either. Its easily unsettled, boaty, and numb. The brakes are sketchy. Dangerously. Its great for drag racing and commuting though. The yoke is a gimmick and a compromise. At the end of the day it's an economy car.

Don't buy a lucid. Dealers wont even touch those. Youll get burned. Even though teslas are ****ty. Theyre still the best EV at being an EV. Bar none, hands down. No other brand's software comes close.

I'm lucky I suppose, in that I have my C2S and I have a BMW i4 as my daily. No leasing as I don't have a business to write it off against, but if I did, that's probably the route I'd take for an EV given the credits available at the moment. FWIW, I really like this BMW i4. I've driven Tesla's extensively and we had a KIA EV6 for a bit over a year. I'd not go back to either of them on a purchase or a lease. The KIA is very well engineered and technically it performed flawlessly for us. But while KIA spent a lot of money (it shows) on the EV system and its Drive Train, the interior is clearly where they saved money. So what you're always looking at looks like the interior of the absolutely cheapest car, pick your brand, that ever was. The Lucid intrigues me, but while most of the reviews are extremely positive, there have been a few that seem like, when there's a problem, YOU now have a problem and getting resolution may be problematical.
My wife drives a BMW X5 Hybrid. It legitimately goes 30+ miles on a charge. Since almost all of her driving is less than 30 miles in a day, it's very rare that it needs to see a gas station. It recharges at home on a Level 2 Charger after midnight and it's good to go every morning. It's very comfortable and it's been 100% reliable. The few times we've needed to go on a long trip, it's the car we take. If we had to survive, on just one of our cars, that'd probably be what we'd keep.

That's funny; many years ago in Auckland New Zealand I was with a group of friends and we pulled up next to a large US sedan, I can't recall exactly what model. One of the group said "it's quiet drinking", that has stuck in my mind ever since.
