Default 992 Tuned Review

Had a local YouTube reviewer Zygrene review my car. He's had seat time in many 911s and GT cars so was interested in his perspective on a tuned 992.

enjoy

I guess a little surprised you did a Stage 2 on the 7MT. But hey.

Interesting he was quite complementary but bashed the turbo lag and size of the car quite a bit. Not to mention he said straight line about 5 times. Like he was maybe dissing the owner for not getting any updated springs or other mods. He certainly pointed out the lack of RAS.

Fun watch but dood.... tilt the seat up properly and after some of those shifts I think the numeric needs a hug.

Contrarian view: MT is a ridiculous anachronism in a 600hp 992, and the kid can’t shift worth a damn because things are happening so quickly. Gimme a PDK in SportPlus mode all day, every day.

M Engineering says Stage 2 tune on MT is fine as Porsche factory 7MT OEM dry clutch system good to 660 ft. Lbs. torque per M Engineering.

I agree that his shifting needs work. I still feel like people conflate turbo lag with being in the improper gear for the needed response. The 992 feels pretty damn responsive and linear.

I've driven cars in the canyons that he absolutely love like the GT4. Yet I walked way thinking meh it's way too loud, bumpy and cramped. I also have friends who swear by the GT4 so I know it must be a great car. Just not for me. So be weary of online "car reviews" you must drive the car yourself you never know. The only driver that matters is you. Having said that I would love to try a tuned 992.

My 443 h.p. Carrera S is much more fun to drive than my 668 h.p. CT5-V Blackwing was. I still don't know if it's as fun to drive as my Integra Type S is though, but I've only got 130 miles on the Porsche so far.

I must say you have guts - letting someone you don’t know much test drive your 600hp car on this road.

I actually daily a CT5BW currently but I've considered moving to a C2S as I don't have a need for a 4 door sedan and I much prefer a more compact car. My girl has a SUV so that works for anything else I might need when it comes to hauling stuff.

Would love more of your experience with the switch from the BW to the CS.

If I needed a 4 door sedan, I would seriously consider buying a CT5BW.
