Got a 992.2 allocation

My sales rep and his sales manager was the one who said the 13th for EPA (I dont see it yet either)… I called first thing and update today was that the base models will/should be released from ports in the next week. But who knows…I just am hopeful that it happens soon and there is some accuracy to this. They said I will hopefully have it at some point next week (hopefully by the 28th or end of September). I’m not holding my breath but just passing along some hope for us all who have cars sitting at the ports.

After seeing real world pics here are my thoughts on the 4 new colors I was debating between:
1. Lugano Blue --- worse than the configurator but that's what was built so I'll have to learn to love it
2. Vanadium --- better than configurator
3. Slate grey neo --- MUCH better than configurator and maybe my new fave
4. Shade green "metallic" --- worse than configurator and nothing about it is metallic

In person (and on a Panamera) it looks too flat and dare I say cartoonish. It needs some metallic flake to it. It looks the right kind of blue in the shade but then in the light, it's much more light/baby blue almost like shark blue.
It's not terrible by any means but I was hoping it would be closer to something like golf blue or maritime blue. Not too dark and not too light (in any lighting). Oh well, it should only be a day or two more before I see it in person.
I wish Porsche made it easier to acquire a PTS. I would gladly pay $15k extra for the exact color I want (fjord green) if they didn't make it so difficult to actually get a PTS allocation.
BTW I have gentian blue right now and I like it but it's a tad too dark for my liking unless it's in the sun

To be fair, I've only seen lugano blue in person on a Panamera not yet on a 911 (other than in pics/videos).

I'm not sure what exactly "cartoonish" means in this context but, personally, one of the things that I like about Lugano is the fact that, like Guards Red and Speed Yellow, it does NOT have metallic flake in it. IMO, some of the best traditional 911 colors are non-metallic and Lugano has that great retro look to it. FWIW, I will say that some colors appropriate for a sports car like the 911 would not be my first choice on a large sedan like the Panamera. Just my $.02.
Also agree on the coupe vs sedan thing. Some colors are just better on a sports car.

There is a retro, classic look to those flat colors that I think goes well with the base Carrera that I have on order. Nothing against any of the metallic colors; it's just personal preference.

It's not so much that I prefer non-metallic colors generally; there are very nice metallic Porsche colors and I've had several of them. But I wanted a blue car this time around (never had one before) and the non-metallic Porsche blues like Miami, Mexico, Gulf, Shark, Riviera and now Lugano appeal to me more than the metallic variants like San Marino and Gentian. Metal flake in the Lugano paint would have given it a completely different look.

I agree. There is just something classy, vintage and sporty about all of the non-metallic colors. Especially when you see it on the road. Not to say that metallic doesn’t look good. GT Silver is hands down one of my favorite colors as well and timeless but personally prefer the non-metallic especially Chalk.

The ACC is very huge and right in the middle of the bumper(Probably 2x the size of a 992.1 ACC). I think the rear has way too much plastic added. The rear bumper does look wider due to the sides and the cover for the sport exhaust is nice. The front bumper looks more aggressive as well. Base headlights a plus in my opinion from last year.

I've seen some instagram shots from Beverly Hills Porsche where they have received at least two.
