Since you switch it btwn vehicles, how do you power it? I don't see myself using it all the time (bad example for the kids), wasn't planning on hardwiring it in. thx

I went with an Escort Redline 360c. Was able to sample a few and they all have their strengths. I settled on wanting directional arrows and preferred the build quality of the 360c. Was previously mounted in 718 using the suction cup, but bought the blendmount for 992. Yet to install but impressed by how small the blendmount is.

So far, we have avoided a permanent mount, not wanting anything mounted in the car that “signals” a valuable item inside.
We leave nothing in view (ever). We live in a nice, safe area - but it’s been our habit for a long time whether running local errands or traveling.
We’ve not had an issue with the suction cup mounts. It would be nice to have a built in power supply, but so far we haven’t done that either.

R8 also has improved range...how much that matters is questionable because the R7 was already very good.

I use the Escort Maxcam 360c and Blendmount. This detector got a bad rap due to the crappy app that Escort makes, but the radar detector itself is really good. If you try and access the videos from the app you'll be very frustrated but if you have the dashcam as a 'just in case' that you can view later on your computer, I have not found a better solution.
Also, if you use the Valentine V1 gen 2, get the V1 driver app. Does a great job at automatically filtering false alarms, etc.

I have a '24 C2S with no prewiring for dashcam but would like to install one including a radar detector. Are there any good resources on how to install both and wire them to the existing power supply in the mirror? Any feedback would be appreciated!

I used to move a detector in between three cars and hardwire is by far the most convenient. Just install hardwire kits in each car. Hardwire doesn't mean you have to have your detector permanently attached and it's a not a big deal at all to install. If you don't want to remove any of the overhead map light cover or rear view mirror cover to utilize a mirror tap, you can run an Add-a-Circuit from the footwell fuse panel and run the cord up the A-pillar in between the windshield without needing to remove any panels. When you hardwire, all that is visible is the RJ11 phone jack cord that you can tuck up behind your review mirror when you don't need it.
