992.1 GTS inbound – Which Aftermarket Exhaust (Poll)
#1
![Default](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
Exploring aftermarket exhaust options for my upcoming 992.1 GTS build, my first 911. I'm prioritizing quality over cost since I plan to keep it for the long term. I'm interested in an exhaust that offers an exotic and sophisticated sound, enhances performance slightly, reduces weight, and ideally doesn't trigger a check engine light (CEL) or void the warranty. Considering:
- Akrapovic
- Soul Performance
- JCR
- Kline Innovations
Any recommendations or experiences with these? Thanks in advance!

Quality won’t be an issue as you will not wear out any of these. All excellent choices. I’ll give you two more to consider: Dundon makes great stuff and if you want a lower cost option that happens to sound great because after all, it’s the sound that is important, iPE. I labored over this decision for the better part of a year and finally chose IPE. Not because of the cost, but because it offered the best sound to me and some of the greatest variance between valves open and valves closed. At the price I purchased it, I could buy two more exhausts over the years and still be less than some of your choices. As long as fitment is good, you’ll never see any of the pipes you choose anyway. In the end, you’ll get lots of opinions here and they will be important to consider, but the most important one is what they sound like in person to you. Video clips I found to be useless because they don’t give you any real appreciation of the sound quality.

I'm going with an APR exhaust for my upcoming GTS. IPE was a close consideration. The price and the exhaust configuration swayed me to the APR.

I would pair with a valve controller. I just had it installed and even with the stock exhaust it is a nice improvement. Even with PSE active the car is opening and closing the valves when it wants.

I have Soul on my GTS and am pretty happy with it. It isn't obnoxious but does have a deeper tone than stock. If I am in "normal" driving mode it is pretty tame and I don't notice a huge difference however when I switch to "sport" mode it definitely sounds better than the stock exhaust. I did not get a check engine light after install.

Need to research this more. Assuming this expands the variability beyond normal/sport/sport plus?

If money is no object and you don’t want to tune then full inconnel system will save a ton of weight and sound the best. it will change the tone, higher.
RedStar is a good option and cheaper than JCR, quality is top notch and the heat shielding options and quality is really good.
(I have no affiliation with Redstar, just saw a set on my buddies 570s and it sold me)
100 cell cats and maybe 02 spacers and if your lucky it won’t throw a CEL. (But probably will anyway).

I’ve had soul and Akra.
the Soul is nice, deeper sounding than stock.
switched to Akra because I got a very good deal and was able to sell the soul for what I almost paid for it.
the Akra is so much lighter being Ti, and the sound is much higher pitched.
personally after having both I like the Akra better.
