Not much to love.
No one is paying ADM on a base 911

I'm curious to see how the base does in real world driving reviews. I find it hard to believe the motor keeps the same power delivery characteristics as the .1 with the increased boost but change to stoichiometric fuel mapping only increasing +9 horsepower and no change to torque. I read the new 3.6 hybrid even gets rid of variocam, I wonder what other changes were made to the base motor.

I will say I do not like the visual changes made to the exterior on the bumpers and interior (full screen cluster, red button on steering wheel), so I'm feeling very good about keeping my 992.1 T manual. We'll see what Porsche introduces as more variants are shown.

Lambda 1 at high load requires ignition timing changes to avoid damage. It is the ignition timing that reduces power at high load.

At first, I was not thrilled about the cosmetic changes, but it's starting to grow on me already. I was originally shopping for a CPO Carrera Base, as it would be my first 911. I sold my Macan GTS recently and already miss the P-world. I've decided to put a deposit tomorrow on a 992.2 Base for delivery next Summer. If between now and then an interesting CPO example pops up, I would make the switch. I'm sure the dealer will be happy to sell me one either way.

I'm in Canada where ADM's thankfully do not exist.

ADM's do exist and are legal in Canada if disclosed in all advertising. However, Porsche dealers are not using them. Instead, most have a mandatory option spend of around $22k per car on average.

I’m in a similar situation to you. I’ve had an allocation request in for the last 13 months for a standard Carrera with light options . Spoke to my SA last month and he told me it’s lookin like a .2 will be the allocation I receive. Besides the price hike I like the changes for the .2 personally. Would I have taken a .1 allocation for a standard Carrera? Absolutely but that is moot now.
My opinions
The rear end now lost the bulbous look and has a similar .1 GTS rear with the plate location raised to break up the rear.
The front is similar to me but I do prefer the DRLs in the headlights.
Nice to see the .1 GTS turbos , .1 Turbo intercooler and S 350mm brakes come standard. People who tune and or track I would assume this is a big update.
Addition of standard features - mode **** on steering wheel, ambient lighting, power mirrors, heated wheel and wireless charging are nice but things that I would not have optioned on a .1
Nice to see that the Carrera Classics are now $2450 they were over 5k before I will definitely be getting these if a allocation comes my way

The things I don’t prefer
The push button start. The full digital dash I get the arguments on both sides personally would prefer full analog dials was indifferent to the single analog tach.
The price .. it is what it is

From another thread, dealers are already looking for ADM on a Base 992.2. The fanciful "it's a detuned GTS" sales pitch is already working.

Default 992.2 S manual tran

Yes, and what if the 992.2 S is non-hybrid, offered with a manual and can be configured similarly to a 992.1 GTS?

I read recently that the Carrera 992.2 is not coming with manual for 2025.

My hope as well but unfortunately think is just wishful thinking.
