Default No love for the base 992.2?

It's a major improvement, GTS turbos on the base. Not saying I would tune it immediately, that would be inappropriate. Just but the GTS etc..,
For 150 I could build a nice carmine red cab. That's pretty much the price of my deceased 4S cab back in sept 2019. Still TT, plenty of aftermarket mufflers out there, no need to spend on PSE.

Hypothetically speaking, would you be trolling if you put the Carrera GTS script on the back?

If it had a manual transmission I would be extremely excited.

I think it is a great car. Looks amazing with the sport design package and basically is the .1 GTS power wise. Bigger brakes also.

If it had a manual and proper diff would be the perfect car. But I think Porsche knows this…

With just a few options, it costs more than I paid for my 2020 C4S and you’re getting less car.

The 992.2 Base is now a $150k rolling off of the lot… before ADM etc.

Not much to love.

If Porsche is interested to sell the 992.2 base they should really consider adding a manual option.

I guess if you use a sharpie would make it ironic?

There hasn't been a manual base in many years... It sells just fine.

I did the same exercise. My $130k C2S optioned the same as a 992.2 base comes in at $136.5k. Basically the same car but 60hp less. Same exercise on a GTS comes in at $177k before the inevitable ADM’s.. To be frank despite the new engine tech, which is intriguing, it’s clear we were lucky to get the early 992’s at the prices we did.

Meh. As expected very basic upgrade, classic Porsche way, with a nice starting price bump, another classic Porsche way. Anybody that has a 992.1 base will have absolutely no reason to upgrade to the new base (unless they have high miles and want a new with warranty etc).

Quite a few RLers with ample means (more than many other RLers) have owned more than one 992.1 because they have wanted to change the flavor slightly. I have learned from my 992.1 C2S build and there are some changes I would make if I were to do it all over again. However, even when 2024 C2S allocations were still available, I would not have opted to do so as that would have been quite costly to do. My only do-over exists in a universe where I could go back with the knowledge. And I would likely never find such a car used.

I like it.. have a base with tune now so why not a 992.2 with GTS turbo's and a tune. Win!

Looks OK but it is NOT the same as 992.1 GTS power. It is approximately 100hp less because of the Lambda 1 changes which are a major technical change that is not being discussed as much as it should. Emissions more important than performance now. Porsche first to do this. ECU tune of 9A2 engine in 992.2 base is necessary to get to 992.1 GTS power to get rid of the Lambda 1 changes.

I'm excited about the base. Not all of us can swing the massive $55,000 between the cost of the two. I'm happy to option out a base car within my means and drive a 911 again. It's also an opportunity for me to build out my own car. I've only bought off the lot in the past. My dealer called me and said the allocation was available to me so I'm finalizing my build. Exciting!
