No more manual Targas then. Ever. Wow. Feels good to have an extinct Dodo.

I'm guessing the 992.2 "S" will be a 992.2 Base Carrera 3.0 turbo with Limited slip and PASM sport, higher boost and GTS brakes plus manual trans option. Don't expect the hp to be much higher that the 992.1 "S", just like the 992.2 base Carrera.
Thats a very good point. The new Porsche bean counters are for sure going to extract as much $$$ as possible and this gap in pricing will be filled in.

My guess that the new 992.2 S which will hopefully be introduced in Q4 will have:

* Same engine/tuning as the 992.1 GTS
* Brakes from the 992.1 GTS
* Manual (I hope)

My guess is that the 992.2 Carrera T will still survive but will be a late in the 2028 cycle, near the end of the 992.2 production run.

There will be no S. The S has been dropped altogether. That’s what we are being told in the UK market.

Hate to say it but from a business perspective, introducing a manual only at the Turbo, GT, and T trims does make sense.

I’ve read the take rate for the manual is at or below 5%. Yet, that market of enthusiasts are the ones who are generally more invested and willing to pay more. So, Porsche is going to tie them to expensive models (Turbo, GT) or more limited models near end of production (T).

This way they don’t have to mix parts during most of production, they force the enthusiast to take a much more expensive car if they want the manual (Turbo, GT), and they boost sales near end of production (T).

In reality, their sales numbers continue to grow because 95% of people will take the faster and more powerful S/GTS variants while the rest of the 5% will either upgrade to the Turbo/GT if they are financially able to, or will wait for the T and grab it as soon as they can.

I really hope I’m wrong…

If the S uses the THEV system, it can't have a manual.

510 hp from the S makes less than no sense if the GT3 is at 520 and the GTS is at 540. Y’all are just making stuff up at this point.

And how is your totally fabricated timeline of rumours based on zero actual facts or company announcements more accurate than a contradictory rumour that there will be no S at all.
Nobody will know that level of detail that you posted at this stage. It’s just nonsense.

Lol. It's not my timeline. It's a guy that's been historically correct.

We will see but for now it is confirmed that S is a hybrid with 510bhp. Actually this info is from september 2023 if you search a bit.

Well if the S is a hybrid, how can it have a manual? Look at the drawings of how the electric motor is integrated into the driveline with the PDK - how are you going to deliver that with a manual?

The only way the S is a manual is - they drop the electric assist motor. Just run the eTurbo unit in the S, it essentially "detunes" itself without the electric assist motor, uses the "regular" PDK, and can therefore be delivered with a manual also.
