Thinking of a GTS

Thinking of a GTS
Hello,
I’m thinking of my first 911, a 2022 Carrera 4 GTS in Chalk with the factory aero kit.
Is the GTS good at holding value? Does the spoiler of the aero kit and color make this the car too flashy and draw too much attention? Does it add to resale value? It’s likely I will keep the car forever but I still want to feel good about the value!
The car is highly optioned and $190k. Should I just go for the Turbo?
I’m considering buying the car remotely and will not see it in person.
Thanks for your feedback!

$190k is steep. Peak of Covid money, the highest priced, sold GTS was $229k and that was $50k over MSRP.
What’s the MSRP of the car you’re looking at? For $190k, get your own build slot and option it yourself.

Did you price out the (appropriately specced) Turbo model you were thinking of jumping on to? I feel every time I build out a specific Porsche model, and think, hey, I should just jump to the *next* tier up, the price differential balloons beyond what made me decide to switch in the first place.

Msrp is $188 due to options including the aero kit, rear wheel steering, pdcc and burmester.

Precisely. If I got everything I wanted on a turbo the delta is around $30-$40k.

I am not too familiar with the prices in your region, but as someone mentioned, 190k for a 2 year old GTS is steep. Try to get an allocation and build your own. You'd have specced it the way you want it and have a brand new car, most likely for the same price.

Totally agree, configure a new 992.1 GTS one for the same price.

It won’t be the same price. It will be more because the MSRP has gone up.

If its low miles, manual, with all the performance goodies in that msrp vs leather on the inside of the cup holder, then you have a shot at retaining value. If all the option money is in interior upgrades then no way on value retention. $183 MSRP before the last price increase should mean pdcc, ras, pccb,
If you can hold off, wait until the .2 info on the 28th. As if there is no manual in gts and this is a manual gts you are looking at, could be a winner.
EDIT: i think I found the car you are looking at. If so its a nice spec but with PDK. I would definitely hold to see what Is announced next week. I think the next GTS is going to be a monster and I think prior .1s in PDK will feel the depreciation hit. Manuals as well if they remain an option. Also, if you really care about resale, deviated seat centers can be a bit polarizing.
