Maybe because the non-painted bumpers are difficult to see on the camera? I can see just a tad of my plate on the reverse cam. IDK.

making more sense now…
red bar = standard Carrera bumpers
no red bar = Carrera sport design, GTS, TT, TTS, and any other 992 variant with rear license plate/camera mounted higher than the low placement of the standard Carrera rear bumper.
Since the standard Carrera rear camera is mounted so low, Porsche had to add a red bar on the display as a reference point of what not to hit when you’re backing up. On sport design, GTS, TTS, etc, this is not an issue because the camera is mounted high enough to actually be able to capture an image of the portion of the rear bumper below the camera.

2022 992 Carrera S with PCM 6, AeroKit and GT3 LWB’s. No surround view. No red bar. Plate and bumper visible in camera view.

Maybe for an extra charge, we could get Lower Camera Bar in Exterior Color. $800
