Now for Q1 2024 in the US there was a decline in 911 sales: 1930 cars in Q1 2024 vs 2510 in Q1 2023.

Regarding the 718:
5772 cars worldwide in Q1 2024, +20% compared to Q1 2023

In the US 797 cars in Q1 2024, 1124 in Q1 2023

Worldwise Q1 Sales per region:

PCNA Q1 Sales per model

I think the next too years will be the ones with real numbers and critical to Porsche based on that they will have all models ready to sell. They have really messed up the production in 2023 and 2024 by deciding to launch new versions for 4 our of their 5 model lines in six months. And it seems even for this size of companies it is still impossible. This means delays and dealers without cars to sell.

Anyway so 2025 and 2026. There will be cars available to sell BUT your best selling small SUV is now full electric and your main car line more than half based on hybrid tech. So critical.

We will see.
The Panamera is getting axed at those numbers.

Look at that China number . The 911 is not the issue (thread title ) . It's the Taycan .... Chinese market is dry because they can buy cheap EV's . They want ICE cars !!!!
Taycan has worn out its welcome . Maybe they will see where this EV nonsense is heading . They have already made changes on the 718 getting special permission to extend the Gt cars until 26 in Germany .
See attached ...https://www.carscoops.com/2024/07/po...report-claims/

the Chinese market is drying up for the Taycan because of the growing number of cheaper EVs built locally. The German publication adds that luxury German models that Chinese buyers want are those with combustion engines, not electric powertrains.

Exactly.
How many guys are seriously considering an EV 718? Sports car enthusiasts are not the same as "Bay Area" types out to save our planet with their Teslas.

This is exactly why I decided to jump on a 911 now rather than wait. If I waited a few more years as I had originally planned I would most likely have been priced out.

Same reason for me too. I felt I've been chasing a moving target price-wise. Better to jump in now rather than waiting any longer.

There's definitely a slowdown in 992 911 used car sales here in the Bay Area. Used 992 car sales slowdown has been a harbinger of what was to come.

As a case in point, Porsche Stevens Creek's used 992 inventory has been growing all year along. That's Bay Area's biggest Porsche dealer. Stevens Creek has a red base 992 that hasn't sold for over 6 months since January. The dealer is putting some massive price reductions (over $14,879 in price reduction since Jan. 20), but it still hasn't sold and is still available:

Shocking.

To think there is a “slow down” in sales of used ICE 911’s, and it has nothing to do with it being an EV?

I’m floored. 😱

Not.

I wonder if there’s more to this story. Was there a huge mark-up initially that didn’t make sense for potential buyers? Porsches priced in that range move fairly quickly in SoCal.

This is a case of not looking deep enough. That car in particular had a msrp of $113,120 in 2022. It is sitting because this dealers greed, not due to demand issues. It’s a near three year old base car still asking $10k over msrp and must have been $25k over if there was a near $15k price reduction. So yeah, of course it’s going sit. Cannot use these examples to decipher market demand.

So what doesn’t make complete sense is that dealers aren’t sitting on piles of allocations for 911s. Sales might be down, but it doesn’t seem that there are spare allocations either. Perhaps Porsche will slow production to ensure there is always demand?

LOL That's been my feeling the past couple years, especially recently when I saw the GT3 base price (I swear it was in the $140s not too long ago). No time like the present to buy a 911, I guess!

It was (…or at least close to that), because one of my builds was $190k-ish with lots of bells and whistles.
