Yeah, Chinese EVs, sounds great. Lets all go to Walmart and grab a throw away car. Can't wait to save the planet on the cheap!

Have you driven one?

I have.

There is nothing "throw away" about them.

Just because there's a fancy coat of paint and tech doesn't mean it's not a throwaway.

Sounds like you are sold. I'll take your word for it as I have absolutely no interest in Chinese golf carts but I am also from the "deplorable" side of the tracks.

Depending on what the finished product looks and sells for, I think it will do well with upscale buyers.
Upscale buyers will want HUD, Apple CarPlay, vent/heat/massaging seats. etc. That's part of what make them upscale buyers.

Our son loves the Taycan CT he ordered and had to wait almost a year for delivery, but it's just not for us.

Well, after having HUD on my previous car, I wanted one on my 992….but alas, it was not to be. Kind of ironic that in a car that cost me about $175k, there was not even a HUD option. 😱 But I managed.

As to what the EV Range Rover might have on it…I have no idea? But prices will range, according to C&D, between $120-$160K…so suspect if will be packed with luxury items that people in my community want. As is, I see many more Range Rovers in my town, than both Porsche SUV’s, combined. But, those are ICE…so time will tell how the EV Rover competes with its ICE sibling?

That’s sort of the point….the Taycan is not for everyone. Good looking car, though…although not sure what niche it fills? Not only have sales of the taycan take a big hit, so have resale values.

I think that's going to be the reaction to the Cayman EV.

Or maybe that is already the reaction to the Cayman EV.

Taycan is one of the very best looking cars, too damn bad it is a rotten plug in.

Ya know, beauty is in the eyes of the buyer. Neighbor has a big *** Infinity Q - something or another, and she claims it’s one of the most beautiful cars on the road. Didn’t have the heart to tell her that she should have her eyes checked. One UGLY looking SUV, IMO. But she’s happy, and since it’s her money, not my problem.

The 992s might as well have HUD at this point but I’m ok without it. My wife however doesn’t want any car that doesn’t have it now after seeing it in my old S class and her current A6. Hell, my Tundra has HUD.

Sorry but I was referring to options on the as yet unborn Rivian R2, using its 68,000 “preorders” as no real indication as to how many people will step up and by one in 2026(ish). Same to me for the RR wait list. A RR would be at the very bottom of my want list but YYMV. Here in flyover country you rarely see them and I see far more Porsches and Audis than RRs, even though none of the 3 brands have a dealer less than an hour away. You could argue most of Audi’s lineup are less $ than RRs, but not so for the Porsches I see around town.
