You mean 992.1? Porsche tests cars exactly as they come out of the assembly line.

As per press release:

The test car was equipped with standard road tyres, plus the aero kit with a fixed rear wing that has been available as an option for several model generations now, and which provides increased downforce at high speeds.

The beginning of the end is here - ZERO interest in a hybrid 911. Obviously that means no more manuals on this version.

May 28th will be interesting to finally learn what versions/configurations will be available. We had enough speculations, for sure. I am particular keen to learn if there will be a base or whatever version that sticks with ICE only or if the 992.1 is truly the last generation of its kind. If so, I sure would love me a T.

... until all the breathless prose on the 'torque fill' or the hybrid begins to fill our feeds..

Ah, if true, a single turbo, with electronic (spool) assist, could be quite interesting. It could basically have the response of a normally aspirated motor off the line, and the flat torque of a turbo through the rev band. And, a single turbo should also noticeably change the exhaust note. If the rest of the motor is unchanged, I don’t see why Porsche cannot offer a manual as an option on such a motor.

I don't think I care anymore. I bet Porsche could make a 911 EV that would blow every record out of the water.
I think in the entire automotive universe, only Porsche has that extreme level of fascination and myopic focus on Ring times.

They essentially build cars to a specific Ring time.

Other marques care, but their level of interest compared to Porsche's is like comparing a pothole to the Grand Canyon.

220 lbs weight penalty negates almost half of the claimed power bump. When you factor this in, the power bump is around 6-7% which is inline with prior gen increases. I believe they have bumped the power 5.5-6% on paper but they did reduce the weight at times (or allowed car to be configured in a way that allows weight reduction).

Wait, am I to understand there will be no ICE only 992 GTS available? That be the case I'll be burried in my current one.

No manuals either is my guess. And I think we can throw out the naturally aspirated GTS rumor as well - this is certainly turbocharged.

I just hope they don't use archaic Li-Ion batteries and go with super capacitors ala Sian.
