992 Targa GTS (2023) - Valve Lapping, Already?!
So my car is a 2023 Targa GTS with just under 7k.
On April 3rd I took the car in because the check engine light came on. April 4th I picked it up, it happened again, and I dropped it back off on the 5th of April. Two weeks in, I was told in was misfiring on cold start, in cylinders 3, and 6. Three weeks later I was informed they had to drop to engine to install all new fuel injectors. Five weeks later, they're telling me that they're going to have to drop the engine again, pull all the cylinder heads and lap the valves.
This is my first P car, but I'm dismayed.. This is going to devalue the car if I go to sell it, and someone pulls the service history. My immediate response is buy this back and let me have another allocation. What do you guys think?

Getting your car serviced does not reduce the value of the car.
This isn’t a buy back scenario. If they find a more serious issue, you may even end up with a replacement engine.

There is a Porsche work bulletin on this issue if you search it.

I got the following message from my service advisor
"We're going to drop the engine out of the vehicle and pull the cylinder heads off and lap all of the valves Parts on order. Will start on Monday"
They did tell me that they would be open to some compensation for the length of time they've had my vehicle. I've just never had this much work down on a car this new.

Ask the dealer if they would buy it back. My dealer would offer me MSRP for my 2023 992 GTS with 5k miles on it.

Someone here got a buyback because their surround cameras weren't working, as crazy as that sounds.

I remember reading that....it is all because rearview cameras are mandatory safety equipment in cars in the US, and the dealer didn't fix the issue in the number of tries they get before the lemon law kicks in.
