Default hot left tunnel

992 carrera2 automatic arrived September 2023. I immediately noticed that after 1 hour and a half or 2 hours of using the car the left part of the tunnel where I rest my knee overheats. it reaches 45/50°C. and is very annoying. I've already taken it to the workshop 4 times and the last time they changed the PCM. but still I have the same problem.
Is it normal for that part to reach that temperature?

My knee burns while I'm driving. Can you show me what temperature yours is at?

I will check next time I drive it, but I don’t think I lean my knee against it?

Best not to wear lederhosen or kilts on long drives.

I don’t rest my knee on that pad either.
I’ve never rested my knee on the tunnel of any car I’ve ever owned.

50c is not enough to burn you.

The air temp here in Arizona is regularly 50c in the summer time.

You'll be fine.

yes, but don't set the temperature of 50° on the air conditioner inside the car

I guess you could make a small resting pad in that area for your knee, maybe hold it in place with some velcro. You would need material like this:

Heat Pressing Mat Silicone Rubber Pad High Temperature Resistant Plate Compatible For Easy Press 2 for Heat Press Machine (aliexpress.us)

OK thank you. good idea. so it's normal for that part to overheat like this and it's not a defect in mine

It’s better than that. Just like crapped out chains/tensioners/cracking cylinder liners/ bore scoring/shagged IMS/RMS/PCM/PDK/duff lithium batteries…the problem doesn’t exist!😜
