Is this a feature of the 992?

I was driving around for three hours yesterday with air on at 22 centigrade. I noticed my knee getting hot.

When I felt the side of the central console around the knee pad and forward of that point, it felt very warm. I could not feel a draught but it was definitely heated. The right side of the console (passenger side) felt cool and cool air was coming out of both vents.

I’m wondering if I have a leaking air mixing box or a warm air pipe has separated itself somewhere behind the console. Has anyone experienced similar with this or another model.

 

I have a 992 and the same happens in my car... After some driving the area around my right knee feels hot enough to feel unconfortable... Did you find a solution?

 

Noticed the same while driving a 992 at PECLA. It gets pretty impressively warm.

is your car manual or PDK?

 

Mine is PDK and the Porsche Center has just replaced the whole PDK selector device or whatever it's called😅

Super hot driving leg still happens, which turns to cozy experience now that the temperatures are falling...

 

Hi, has anyone sorted this out? I just started noticing the same hot area in my 992 after 2 years of ownership. Dealer says other 992 they have do the same.. curious to consider this a feature as it has not occurred in the first 2 years. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thank you. I am ordred to the service on Wednesday. They will try to setup the flaps via diagnostic. Hopefully, this will resolve the issue. Will keep you updated since no one seems to have posted any resolution of this problem here yet.

 

Hello, I have same problem with my 992 C4S, I have PDK. My central console got very hot on the left side at the knee level. Interested to know what Porsche service will say about it.

 

It's normal.

 

I have a 2022 c4s manual. Same thing happens with mine after driving a while.

it's a bit unpleasant to feel my knee hot, I can't rest it

 

I put the machine in ON mode. without starting the engine. and after 30/40 minutes the tunnel at knee height begins to heat up. I don't see what's behind the plastic near the knee .what's down here? I noticed that these two green cubes just above the pedal also get quite hot

 

Upon reading this thread, I started to pay attention to this concern.

After a 6 hour round trip (3 hours each direction over a weekend), I found no such issue.
I did another trip last week of similar duration and didn't have this issue.

For what it's worth, my car is a MY22 C4 w/ PDK.
