With the uncertainty of the 992.2 builds and options, should I jump on my dealers offer of a 992.1 at MSRP with a July delivery?

You’re more valuable to a dealer when you have a car to trade in versus not.

I read this as a base C2 not a C2S.
the desirability of the Base for either trade or sale in the future i think is very spec dependent. however if you just want a 911 to keep long term then you would likely be ok..
if you think you are going to get a good trade in value at some point in the future that will likely not be the case on anything except a GT car, but especially a Base car with a limited spec.

You’ll pay less for a base and get less on trade. If I recall correctly, Porsche leases have about a 2 or 3% delta on S residuals vs a base. As these cars continue to increase in value, I believe there will always be interest in a low optioned base for those hoping to break into 911 ownership. However, who cares? Is $5k really going to make a difference after 5 years of ownership? If a base suits your needs, go for it! If not, wait for a 992.2. I take the base vs S banter in the same light as the manual vs pdk commentary.
