Looks like a 911 with a teratoma.

with the fixed wing in carbon it looks great. apparently no hoops to jump through to order and receive the car possibly with discount to boot. They should have made the side "comma" thingy functional and not just decorational though.

I, for one, am not dismissing the AMG GT.

Just to me, it’s not a 911 competitor.

And at its current price point I think it’s about 30k overpriced.

At its current price point, the 911 is a lot more compelling.

If the AM GT 63 Coupe could be had at around 125k nicely optioned it would make a compelling case against a 911 C2S.

But it’s sadly not.

Well, not sure if its even ment to be a competitor but does not really matter here? Not sure about price points but a base C2 at $114 is quite steep too. The GT comes with the wonderful M178 4.0l bi-turbo - different stroke than the flat 6 but you need to start at the GTS level to come even close to that performance and still lacking by quite some. Weight was always a bummer on the AMG's in general, and the front engine setup sure its a different beast than the rear 911, but I can tell you from my own experience driving that 4.0l bi-turbo gives you a ton more tickle in your tummy than most turbo engines in the 911 except maybe the Turbo S. 911's are more canyon carvers and that what is so terrific about them yet the enjoyment ofthe V8 is just a much different experience.

The Mercedes is typical AMG... over tire'd, drives a bit like your wrestling a Russian circus bear, over tech'd and just more brash. I was surprised how small the Mercedes is in person, it looked bigger in photos. I also can't imagine the hit you'd take driving one off the lot?!
I don’t see the appeal of the SL63 given price wise it’s on par with the new Vantage. If you’re after the V8 appeal and less ubiquity than a 911 it seems like a Vantage is a better choice. IMO the SL is priced way too high.

The new Vantage is gorgeous. Odd they didn't make a nose lift available on it though. The AMG engine gets the special treatment by the AM engineers. Incidentally I recently became aware that multi-million dollar Pagannis all use AMG supplied engines!!

Well, I always find it funny when people say AMG's are slow and heavy. GT Black Series with that V8 held the record on Nurburgring when it came out until a GT2RS Manthey broke it a year later or so. To Porsche's credit, except that Black Series with the second fastest lap for sports cars on Nurburgring the rest of the top 7 or so are Porsches in that category. The GT3 (not RS) in fifth spot is remarkable to me.

My 2019 C43 Coupe "baby" AMG is a fantastic daily driver with a jewel of an engine. From my cold dead hands will it ever leave me.

Always funny these comparisons ON A PORSCHE forum no less. Of course just about everyone is going to pick Porsche and bash the AMG.

To me not driving one but a shopper they aren't even in the same category so pretty silly to compare them to a 911, any of them. Pretty much like comparing an apple to a piano. Too each his own. I am confident if I headed over to an AMG forum they would be saying the exact opposite as here.
