Wow! That is one awesome tint shop then-kudos to the owner for being such a stand-up, honest person.

good on the tint shop to work things out! Will keep an eye out for glass cracks. My hunch is that it's the variable temperatures that (cold inside, warm outside, or perhaps hot or cold solution used before tinting) that might have caused it. diffrent panes of glass expand differently. and boom there is a crack.

I feel like this should be a warranty issue. Good on the shop owner to not put you through any hassle, but the glass should not be that sensitive. For his sake, I hope he asks the dealer about this potentially being covered under warranty.

from what you have posted, that is pretty awesome that the owner put up his card to pay for it, you cant help but think this is caused in part by the lightweight glass, i would personally pay for the tint to mitigate his good will, however i would likley wait until the new glass has been successfully tinted what if it happens again...
