Default APR Tune thoughts?

Who here has an APR stage 1 tune on their 992?
How do you like it? I know it can be flashed with a laptop at home and they can also adjust other setting in the car like disabling start/stop and exhaust value control etc.

----EDIT---
  • Did you dyno the car before and after?
  • Have you run Dragy numbers before and after?

You're getting what you're paying for with an M Engineering tune. There's a reason why M Engineering's work is so popular right now. Mitch is the guy in this space right now.

How many of these damn posts are there in this section!

It really is crazy how some guys will nickel and dime the tuning of their car. Thought I was 16 and back in the Honda Civic forum again.

100%. When you own a six figure car, you don't nickel and dime the tune.

I have used APR on previous cars and was extremely happy with performance and support. I had a standard tune for a 1.8T and their big turbo kit at the time. I've also been to their previous facility and met some of the team including founder. Their new facility looks amazing and they continue to put out high quality products. I wouldn't hesitate to put their tune on my 992 C2S. I wouldn't consider using APR''s 992 tune "nickel and diming" personally. That isn't to say other products are overpriced. Each product offers different features and the prices are fairly close. If I were to criticize pricing for 992 vendors, it would be for exhaust and link pipes.

Mitch is a friend of mine. The APR guys are friends of mine. Both are very talented, but APR does the most instrumented testing of their software of any third party I have ever seen. The cars are festooned with sensors and tortured in every way, including on the track. To date, APR’s biggest con has been their lack of end user OBD port programming but that is changing now as well.

I would heartily and thoroughly recommend both of these tunes. Go with whichever one better fits your personal taste.

This.

APR has been around forever and one of the most trusted names in tuning. Not sure why there was an inference of them being substandard just because their price is less than a competitor.

APR can do what M Engineering can do as well. I would like to know about APR NOT M Engineering.

Why don't you just a buy a tune then instead of starting new threads and continuing to whine about it? A tune is "tees in the golf cart" money in the context of these cars.

You keep saying " they can also adjust other setting in the car like disabling start/stop and exhaust value control etc." even though APR has said numerous times they do not do either.

Or the ability to get an allocation for a Turbo/S!!

I went from a 2024 Turbo cab to a higher spec 2024 aero C4S. Planning a tune and supporting mods to get Turbo performance with $40k-$50k savimgs.

incorrect. APR offers exhaust valve control for $200 on top of the tune.

I wouldn't let APR tune a hairdryer let alone a Porsche. Hard no.
