Thank you for this update! This has been one of the only minor annoyances to speak of from my experience. I didn't think to request for an update last time I was at the dealer for first oil change. I might schedule it up to finally get this annoyance fixed lol.

I did not lose any settings or any personal configuration. I had to re-login to the PCM with my PORSCHE ID, but all of my settings were there.

So for those who are having the same issue, during your next PORSCHE service center visit, indicate that you are having the issue with the "Instrument Cluster Navigation Arrow Off Center" and that they should follow the bulletin noted above for correction action. I also took a copy of the bulletin with me as well and handed it to them.
Thank you very much for this update! Will be contacting my service advisor. Thanks for posting the bulletin # as well. I googled it and found the related document to email to them so they know what I am talking about. I have been keeping tabs on any updates and was pleasantly surprised that they finally have an update that has been working out for those that have taken their affected cars to get the update. Thanks again for sharing your experience and info!

update!: just wanted to say thanks again for the bulletin info. I took the 992 to the dealer this week and they updated as needed given the bulletin info. For the first time ever the navigation cursor is now centered as intended. Although a minor annoyance one doesn't enjoy any glitches in a brand new car so this is a welcomed fix.

I was betting it was going to be one of those situations where either not enough complaints or the system was not being used for current models, that Porsche would just play a deaf ear to those experiencing the issue.

So, I'm pretty impressed that Porsche recognized the issue and spent the resources to fix it...especially for obsolete hardware currently not being installed in the .2 models.

Group, I am inquiring about this for a family member that also owns a 992.1. Has anyone had difficulty getting this SIB SW update installed? Would anyone that has had this recently performed be willing to share a photo of your R.O.?“

Text from their service writer: Good afternoon! My technician has informed me the attempted correction for the navigation concern is not programming successfully. Did you want to leave your 992 with us or reschedule for a different time?”

Very interesting. I'm guessing there was a problem during programming which is weird. I will have to find the actual printout, but this is what it had put on my service request

CLIENT STATES INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NAVIGATION ARROW OFF-CENTER (BULLETING 2423.1/PART ID 9025) NEW SOFTWARE AVAILABLE. CLIENT REQUES TO UPDATE AS PER TI 65/23. UPGRADE TO SW 3885

What I also did was take a photo of the off centered arrow and print it out along with the actual bulletin, so there was no confusion as to the issue, and the recommended fix by PORSCHE... I didn't want any second guessing as I was the first to bring this problem to their attention, but since I had the solution in hand they didn't have to do any research or contact PCNA or PAG... Just follow the directions on the actual bulletin...

The service bulletin posted in this posting and the software version info posted by "Zanary" should be all that's needed to reference the issue with the dealer.

Sounds like the tech or his system is having installation issues...is there another dealer in your area?

I did the same as Zanary....just took a copy of the bulletin to the dealer...they also had not heard of the issue, but the upgrade fixed the issue the first time.

I did the same. Car was due for 1 year service and sent the advisor the info so they would have a chance to understand what was needed when car was dropped off. Not all techs are aware of everything we as owners encounter, and especially when a fix has recently been implemented in the system.

Aforementioned family member provided the two page Porsche SIB to the service writer at the time of arrival so the tech had the necessary information to perform this action.

No, not within 100+ miles in any direction.

Sorry to hear that

Sounds like a road trip needs to be planned...I guessing updating the PCM firmware is not too difficult for a trained tech.

@zanary Thank you for the information. I am uncertain as to why I did not see your reply prior to this very moment.

I for one thought I was not going to use this feature, so if there was a fix or not, I was fine with it.

But actually, when the center PCM screen is doing other things, now that it's working correctly that navigation on the cluster is pretty handy.

I had my annual service performed yesterday (service #1) and had the PCM SW updated for the off-center Nav arrow per the Porsche SIB performed as well. The car was there for the duration of the day.

Same dealer?....same tech?...what changed from the previous failure?

This was my own ‘24 992.1 whereas the last attempt was on a family member’s ‘24 992.1. Same dealer, different 992, no clue re tech, but highly unlikely it was the same.

Edit: I will state that the technician drove the car prior to performing the SW update to confirm that the arrow was in fact off-center and then after the update it was driven again to confirm it had been corrected. Added 4 miles.
