Default Car seat recommendation and pictures.

howdy all! have a 992 Carrera T incoming.I also have a classic 911 (air-cooled 87) in which the kids love to ride. The reasons I got the new one is for safety (no airbags in the 87 and such)

so question. how does people who do, have their child seats set up in the back Seats. What child-seats worked, what child-seats dont work? any pictures?

for background we have 2 kiddos, a regular 45 lb 4yr old and a bigger 2 year old at 45 lbs too

@OP: the consensus was the Combi Coccoro, but it seems to have been discontinued. Porsche makes one that forward-facing only, and it seems if you're fine with a booster the Cosco booster seat (where it's just a cushion on the bottom) also works.

I'd also love to know what carseats other 992 users are owning, esp. rear facing vs. front facing vs. booster.

yes mostly booster and front facing. (my kids are beyond the rear facing age/weight/height)

I use pico from wayb and it works good, the problem is its too low inside the seat so not optimal. so booster will be a good good addition

This forum has become like Dory in "Finding Nemo"... the same 10 questions are repeatedly asked week after week, when there's ton's of 'prior art' on the discussion. What's wrong with pointing ppl at recent threads so they have some context? For example: there are 3 separate discussions rn on grill screens, and at least two on tuning, and, and and...

How about we all resolve to improve the signal to noise ratio for all by first doing some basic research? Search engines were invented for a reason...

You're being dramatic. The last thread in the 992 section that featured the word carseat/car seat was from Oct 2023, and before that was from 2021. Given that a lot of prior carseats have been discontinued, this is at least a topic worth bringing up every 6-12 months. But I understand the frustration with people asking things where the answers are readily available.

I took a recommendation and use the Olli Clek backless booster. I had to remove the arm rests which took about 5 minutes.

I use the WayB Pico in the 74 911 for riding around the neighborhood in the front seat. I'm not comfortable having my 3 year old in that car driving anywhere else since it's 50 years old and no airbags, etc.
The WayB Pico is quite perfect in the back of the 23 Turbo S and she loves riding back there. Interested to see what booster options you guys recommend. Good luck and post pics of whatever you decide to do.

Similar situation for me (inbound 992 C2S; 2-year-old and 4-year-old kids), and I did read the older posts, but they're a bit all over the place.

Curious to see if anything has changed recently?

(I'm also not sure I even want to take the kids in the 992, and maybe just stick to having them ride in the 3-row SUV, where they can spill food and make a mess without me having a panic attack 😬 )

I LOVE taking my 3 year old in the 992. She thinks me downshifting is "going faster" so she's always grinning. (And we go 30mph max LOL)
She does a good job keeping it clean back there but I also take her shoes off and keep her shoes up front and don't let her have any cups or things that can scratch anything back there, just her doll. Man I'm no fun.

Same, we always remove kids' shoes in the SUV (otherwise the seat backs would be covered in god knows what).

For my scenario, it seems like short trips that don't require snacks/drinks/toys is my ideal use case, and I'd love to find the right car seat and booster, which is why I'm watching this thread.

For my 992- I have an 8 month old and we use the Nuna. It’s a super tight fit as it’s back facing. Passenger seat is pushed all the way to the front and my wife hates it lol. But it works and works better when it’s just me and the kid in the back with no passenger.

I’m also interested in any other options for back facing if anyone has for their 992. The old threads on this topic in this forum had too much outdated info. Glad you brought this up.

Thanks!

God bless each & every one of you. So glad that is behind me. Even the grandkids are beyond the car seats. I am here because, ya never know, I may need to be in a position to offer advice for the great grandkids :-)
