I contacted Zunsport in search of grills to protect the radiator. Waiting to hear back. How is this not included as a stock option? This was a clean car 50 miles ago. A little driving, inspection of front and seeing what the front end looks like and the radiators on both sides. I'm looking for something to protect the radiator, there's a ton of debris on the road i.e. gravel that'd easily make a little gash or hole in the radiator with that much area unprotected. I'm only finding kits for 992 GTS models. Any suggestions for a 2024?
I went with these based another poster’s recommendation here. There is a quick Install Video on their site that made it look really easy to DIY, so I’m giving them a try next weekend when I pickup my new GTS. If they don’t seem to be a good long term solution, they look easy to remove and they are a low cost experiment.
Why do ppl feel these are needed? I’ve been driving water cooled Porsches for almost 30 years (both road and track) and never seen a radiator failure caused by a rock, and don’t know anyone who has. Could it happen? Sure, but what are the chances? Reminds me of the Kangaroo bar craze of the 90s…

It's like insurance against a radiator picking up a rock, it's the cost of the grill guard vs the cost of a new radiator/downtime for the car being in the shop.

I have seen it and I know people who have experienced it so chances may be low in your anecdotal experience but they aren't in mine. Here's a thread with several testimonials. https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1312...radiators.html
The screens are very cheap and easy insurance. Another thing that the screens help reduce is the build up of debris in between the AC heat exchanger and engine radiator as these two components are stacked together with a very narrow gap in between. Over time, leaf debris mixed with moisture builds up in between these two radiators and compact into clay which reduces the cooling efficiency of both components. Even my dealer service department recommends the installation of these screens for this reason as well as reducing the risk of punctures. Another time where the screens are useful is during spirited drives in the fall season when the ducts just scoop leaves into them like a street sweeper and packs them up into the cavity which also reduces cooling efficiency. Screens allow for the leaves to fall away and not build up directly against the heat exchangers.
I ordered and installed these from Zunsport. Easy to install, I do like the design and it looks better than I had expected. In fact I think it looks better. Mostly though I have some added piece of mind about some rock piercing the cooling grills on either side.
