Adding rear seats to a Dakar

Hi, everyone.
I'm looking for some serious feedback on this topic. The reason why I want to do this, is simply because I want to, so no need to debate that. And just to pre-empt the insurance questions... I have answered that to my liking and am comfortable with my carrier's willingness to insure the modified vehicle as a 4-passenger car. So I'd like to avoid the discussions around the why, and the debate about Insurance and see if anyone knows IF this can be done on a Dakar? I have read that the pump for the suspension systems may reside in an area that makes adding the seats not feasible. Any input is appreciated; thanks!

I would contact elfermotors. I have a elfermotors kit for sale if it interests you.
I have done a bunch of research on this. Other than the Dakar pump you mentioned, I am 100% confident that this is possible and can be accomplished in several ways. If you want to go the stock look, the elfermotors kit is the best way. If you want to go a different way, you can go down a gt3belts path, which is not stock. The only difference between these two options is how you address the backrests - do you want foldable stock backrests or cushions?
But, I am certain that the seat belt mounting points are available for you to install seat belts. Other than that, you just need a rear bottom seat and c pillar covers. How you address the back rests is up to you. Feel free to ping me with questions.

Thanks, @shack993. I don't have the Dakar yet, I'll only buy one if I gain confidence in this process. A quick review (without lifting carpets) in the dealer between a GT3 and Dakar showed no difference in the back bench area. So I'm intrigued but just worried about the pump...

I don’t know why a pump would matter. The seats would be the same. The only thing I can think of is if there is a pump where a seat belt housing mounts.
Is there a Dakar parts diagram anywhere on the internet? That would show placement of said pump.

Champion Porsche just did a full rear seat install in a 992 GT3. It’s costly, but definitely doable.

I’m probably doing the gt3belts version when mine arrives next month.

I haven't seen a diagram yet. Supposedly the pump is mounted in such a way/location as to prevent the rear seats from fitting. I would do the full OEM look from Elferspot/RPM Technik, like a GT3.

We're the only manufacturer to offer bespoke interiors for the rear seat conversion, offer more headroom/legroom than OEM, and by far the lightest at only 8lbs for the entire system compared to 35+ lbs for OEM. We utilize all OEM Porsche safety systems. Made in the USA. And the only to offer global white glove installation services.
