yes that is polestar. but the 992 also has dual monitors. It should work on all cars with dual displays
No, the car manufacturer needs to support it and Porsche never has. You simply can’t display a CarPlay map app on the dash, only in the PCM. Not going to happen.

991.2 here so I have no dog in this race. While it's silly to assume it should just work, is there some confirmation that Porsche will never support it? You seem confident in your answer.
The newest platform out for customers is the cayenne MY 24. At this time, this is not available for it. Maybe Porsche will update the PCM 6 software to allow a new function, but I would not expect it.

The question was, as I understood it, specifically about the 992. Given Porsche is moving to Android Automotive for infotainment it seems highly unlikely they would invest in pushing dual screen CarPlay support to non-AA cars like the 992, on the other hand I see on the Macan EV (which will use Android Automotive) they have already announced dual screen CarPlay. Which makes sense as that OS already supports this ... see below.
As it happens a couple of us here have Polestars which use this OS for infotainment and we've been through all stages of CarPlay deployment from 'no CarPlay support' through several updates to now having this very latest update released on iOS 17.4. It's been quite the journey, lots of learnings and more than a little frustration at times but one key relevant aspect is that it's how the car manufacturer codes their specific version of Android Automotive deployed to the car which determines if Apple's dual-screen capability is available on that particular car. Apple can - and do - make improvements to the content displayed and the functionality available within the Maps app but they can't push that to a second display unless the car supports it.
Porsche aligning to using Android Automotive to power the PCM. Still supporting both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Current 992 starting to support some of the advanced controls for Apple CarPlay and car integration would expect this to continue and advance. Macan EV good example of trend. Porsche slow to retrofit in current or older models, but trend of continuing Apple CarPlay integration is promising
