Window defect recall

It is probably to soon as the recall has not been released to owners. PCNA is just releasing the specifics to dealers today. See post #24.

Had some whistling above 65 and strong above 80 😎. 2021 C2S with lightweight glass. Brought it in not knowing about bulletin. They tested and replaced at dealer, was lucky to loan a Targa for two service days wrapping through a weekend while they fixed it 😁…

Found my 992 with lightweight glass is part of the recall.
Does anyone know if they will cover the cost of reapplying my aftermarket tint if the windshield needs to be replaced?

I was told no via my dealer last week. I had called to confirm whether or not my car was affected by the recall as I am having ExoShield installed and did not want to risk the possibility of flushing $500.

I'm getting the same for my 2024 911T. I've had no issues, though. I did have an issue with my driver's side window scraping when rolling it "down". I washed the window, applied moderate pressure on the inside and outside of the window, and rolled the window up and down a bunch of times, and it seems to have subsided for the time being. It was pretty annoying, though (and loud), at first, enough that I thought I was headed to the dealer.
The only other thing, noise window related was addressed by installing the side triangular diffusers so I can roll my windows down.

On another note, my 2023 C2 GTS is also affected by the recall. I'm not sweating it too much. At the factory, the windshield is installed by robots. Although it looks like they do a perfect job, I've inspected many windshields on 992s sitting at dealerships and almost none of the align perfectly on the left and right side (by the A pillars). They are usually off by about a mm. There only is about 4-5mm in the gap from the pillar to the windshield so it's easily seen when it's off just a tiny bit.
My dealer uses a local windshield installer who are very good. I've used the for my Audi and can't see any misalignment. So, although it sucks having the windshield replaced, it's not something that couldn't be done better than at the factory.

You may want to have them check the windows out. Both my driver and passenger windows were squeaking when going up/down and they found they weren't properly running in the tracks.

OT, I was informed via my service writer that our local Porsche dealer sublets windshield R&I via a 3rd party glass installer. 👎

I had my 21 TTS in for routine service this week. I have the LW glass and they performed the recall. They inspected the glass and found no issues so did not have to replace. Just confirming that not every recalled vehicle is actually affected.
