Curious on circumstances as well. A 4S should be churning through rain with no issues, especially assuming tires still like new. I would strongly reccomend spending some time at PEC and spend the day practicing on the wet low fraction circle and the kick plate, no matter how good a driver you are this will help you improve your skills for situations like this.

There is a stretch of paved road near me that is so rutted I can't go more than 45 or so in my 4S in moderate rain. A few overpass / bridges that are sketch too. Standing water is bad news no matter what.

we don't know that
OP said car has 15 k miles , he bought it a month ago
so there is a good chance that tires were original and at 15 K miles for summer tires , tread is probably worn

Could be operator error if he doesn't have that much time behind the wheel of a high HP AWD car.

By definition, a single car accident is always operator error with precious few exceptions.
We know nothing about the OP. We don't know their level of experience or if they're the type of the driver that thinks that they're "experienced".
Regardless, they have experience now -- and hopefully, they learn something from their oopsie.
For the OP, this is a heck of a first post. I hope that you get back in action soon.

I’m glad you are ok!
I own exactly the same car so, if it’s not too traumatic, I’d like to know more details.
‘What tires? What temperature ? Did you hit some deep standing water? Was there a foreign substance involved like oil or antifreeze? Anything else you can remember?
Honestly 70 to 80 miles an hour in the rain doesn’t seem that uncommon around here. I confess to running 80+ yesterday in some 40 degree, light, intermittent rain on my Alpin 5’s without a hint of drama.
Tires were checked as soon as i bought it and were fine, if im not mistaken tires are P zero 20/21’. Tempterature was around 15 degrees celcious, i was driving on a straight line on a highway around 11:30 pm. It was raining quite a bit and at some point i felt the car lift up and lost control of it. I didnt brake at all i was trying to bring the car back to position but the car kept going in a straight line until the road started to curve and hit the concrete divider after gliding around 300 or more meters.
Curious if it was in ‘wet’ mode? Porsche made a very big deal about this when the 992 was launched.
no it was in normal mode and it was stupid of me not turning it on, i always do but this time i felt it didnt need to and probably will always turn wet mode on from now on. I talked to a porsche mechanic and said in this situation wet mode wouldnt help much but i disagree since they specifically made this mode so the car wont hydroplane.
Hi guys, im devastated i crashed my 911 yesterday on a rainy day i lost control on the higway at 70-80 mph and hit the concrete divider on my rear drivers fender. I guess the wheel took the most damage but overall Is this something that can be fixed or?
pretty devastated…was my first 911 after years of hardwork and this happened about 4 weeks after i bought the car. 15k miles on it.
p.s this is the only side that has been damaged, everything else is scratch free. Also it wont start - says instrument cluster failure inspection.
