Anyone know when the announcement was made for 991.2 and how fast it went into production from reveal?
I think 992.2 will make appearance at NY Auto Show in April although last year I believe Porsche skipped the event so who knows ..
given they skipped the LA show a couple of months ago I bet they skip NY as well. Its sad because I LOVE a good auto show day but auto shows are dying. Not sure they'll be around for long and most of the manufactures that you'd care to see at one have already pulled out. Juice isn't worth the squeeze anymore and there are better ways to reveal new models in today's world.
Really bums me out though. Some great memories of my dad taking me to car shows and I loved taking my kids.
For what it's worth, and it may not be worth much, I had a conversation with my SA yesterday regarding my freeze date this coming Monday and as an aside, he mentioned that he had recently heard of a delay of production for the 992.2.
I didn't ask him any more as it doesn't concern me.

Germany will never let VW collapse. They will subsidize them. The same thing is going to happen in the US with it's automakers, and Japan too.
To be fair, VW almost collapsed in the 1970s after the original Beetle sales went stale. The West German government at that time saved VW's *** at the point of near bankruptcy. Porsche may fully spin out as an independent company, which is a good thing, if that ever happens again.

Not that Porsche is into focus groups, but the Spypics of the front of the 992.2 are quite polarizing, to downright ugly. After seeing what BMW did to the front end of the 4-series, maybe they need to step back. I hopefully have an allocation in August or so, but if it looks like what I have seen I will pass. It may just be the GT3.

I have seen this picture many time and Im just now noticing that the middle of the hood creases are gone. Looks like they went back to a 991 style smooth hood.

I seriously doubt they would delay the 992.2 by a model year (ie 2026 vs 2025 model year). The launch however may be delayed by a month or two (if the rumors are true). Same thing happened with the new Lexus GX550. They likely switch over to the 992.2 for early summer production as a 2025 model year.

That picture reportedly shows the new aerokit version, hence the rear wing. Not the standard front perhaps except for the GTS if they follow recent practice.
There was a lot of criticism of the new front end so maybe they are considering an alternative. That would mean procuring different tooling and that would certainly add months.

yeah, that front need to get used too...on a first look I would agree it does not look that great. But that often happens with those type of new models and when they come out they refind it a bit or it looks much better in person. I sure hope so.
