To help assuage folks concerns, I have had the car for over a year and really do not miss the feature. I do have comfort access so the seat does move back when exiting the car and back to seating position when getting into the car. I am the only driver.

Same was communicated to me when I placed my 2023 order.

Mine works the exact same way, so no problem. I am only driver also.

A little OT, but we are talking comfort access...

Another annoyance with CA (beside it being unreliable) is that the seat doesn't automatically move forward until I start the car. Well, my car is a manual and I can't depress the clutch if the seat is fully back so I can't start the car! So I have to get seated then press my memory button and wait while the seat fully adjusts to my settings. That's why I just deactivated it.

Having the same issue on my Integra MT. I can still reach the clutch when the seat is back, but it's annoying. I've never really needed to move steering wheel or seat to get in/out of my cars though so the that part of comfort entry is Mickey Mouse to me.

I took delivery of my MY24 GTS a couple of weeks ago.
It has 18 ways with comfort entry.
The steering wheel is manual.
Only the seats move on comfort entry.
TBH I've never used it on any car and have now switched it off.

A topic near and dear to my heart.
My 2020 C2S (delivered Sep 2019) had 18 way seats with electric steering column adjustment (comfort access and also tied to seat memory as all cars should be).
My 2023 GTS 7MT (delivered Jun 2023) with 18 way seats had manual steering adjustment. An annoying issue I was aware of during the 1 year ordering and waiting process, but eventually my wife (9" shorter than me) and I got used to moving the wheel position each time we switch cars - first world problem etc.

When Porsche took out the electric steering column back in 2022 due to chip shortage they reserved the limited supply of chips just for the 992 Turbo and Turbo S - they are still the only 992 with this feature today.
Also most other Porsche models (Macan etc) lost their electric steering column adjustment in 2022.
Our 2023 Macan did not have any option for electric steering column BUT GOOD NEWS the 2024 Macan has this available again ($200 option) so the chip shortage is fully over.

I expect the electric steering column adjustment will again become an option or even standard on all 992.2 models later this year.

Seems really strange to me that the component they use for the column is so proprietary that it's taken this long to get supply re-established.

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe the lead time for Porsche ordering the column is long and are just now able to spec them with the electric column again across the range.

My 2022 GTS (June production) had no electric column. I contacted the site and was told I wasn't on their "list." I contacted Porsche USA by phone, talked to a very nice lady, sent her all the documentation I had (window sticker, owners manual, etc) that said I should have had the electric column. No response. I figure Porsche dribbled out a few rebates and then decided they could just blow off their customers.

You guys aren't missing much. I've had both manual and electronic on a 992. I'm 5'10 ish and I'm assuming my seat settings are pretty standard and the steering wheel barely moves in my TTS.

VAG was very much dependent upon Ukraine in their supply chain. There's still a war going on over there. Hence, continued shortages with some components.

Beyond that, ongoing issues in the Red Sea and the lack of water for the Panama Canal will continue to make for supply chain challenges in 2024. Tires prices are already climbing as a result.

FWIW I took delivery on a 2020 992 C2S in Jan of 2020 (months before Covid). It has the power column. Sometime in 2021 (can't remember) a delrin washer fell out of the column while driving and scared the bejeebers out of me - everything still worked. The dealer just ordered a new column (claiming it was electric) from Atlanta and had it fixed the next day. This repair was during the reduced chip supply and single fob/no power column deliveries. So at least I THINK there was (is?) a supply or spare parts for electric columns readily available.

Agree that mine only moves a little anyway. So, meh.

You actually don't need to start the car - just turn the key to "on" and pause a moment. Seat will then move - depress clutch - start car. Life is good.

Except most of the world’s chips are produced in Taiwan.

I don’t think it has anything to do with Ukraine. Your Cayenne, Macan, Panamera, and Taycan all get it.
