I watched this Tyre Reviews video a while back and thought it might be interesting as it discusses the difference between OE and non-OE tires for BMW (and Porsche does get a brief mention at about 12:30 or so).

Mine does the same - so will look to switch to Michelin when the Pirelli's are worn out.

Just an update on this - I'm down to 2/32" on my rear Goodyears at a little over 10k. Taking it in tomorrow to get a new set of Goodyears installed and have a full alignment done now that the suspension has settled.

My P4S's still do it when its cold out but not as bad as the Pirellis.

@Wilder I am in your camp on this. I have no experience with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on a 911 (Even though my first failed order was fitted with them) but I do have with my M2Cs and the tyre is brilliant in all weathers.
I have been pleasantly surprised (having now covered over 2,000 miles) by how good the Goodyear F1's are, great wet weather grip in torrential rain and well behaved even when aquaplaning at 80 +
Give huge confidence in the dry with little or no understeer. I think they are definitely on par with the MPS4S

Also considering switching to the Goodyears. I had them on my base 992, no complaints. Current GTS has the PS4S. The one complaint I have with the Michelins is lack of performance when cold. This is a generally a non-issue for daily driving and even on the track, as long as you warm them up. Takes about one or two laps to get them to temp. I've had some sketchy first lap moments on the PS4S, but fine once they have some temperature in them. For autocross they aren't great, very little grip when cold. I have them on my GTS, and the rear grip is terrible. GTS easily overpowers these tires. I also autocrossed my Base 992, which had the Goodyears, traction felt great, but this could've been due to the power difference. I'll be switching to the Goodyears on the GTS on the next go around. Would like something that can perform better from cold, and have equivalent performance on the track. Note the Michelins are a 300 treadwear tire vs 240 for the Goodyear -- hopefully this is indicative of better traction. It's unfortunate we don't have even lower treadwear options available in stock 992 sizes.

Nice. Unfortunately on the GTS you are stuck running stock 20" front wheel size due to the massive rotors. In retrospect I should've gone all-in with a GT3 for track / autocross, much better aftermarket support.

GT3s have the same 21R/20F wheels. They just have different widths and offsets, which can be customized with an aftermarket set.

Yeah the different width makes all the difference. Good tire availability. Not sure I want to mess with a different width setup on the GTS, but should research some regardless.

What widths, sizes and offsets are you running?

Have PS4S now. Great tire, softer, and more grip than my original Goodyears. Doesn’t get cold here but cold grip over 50 has been fine. Tires heat up before the car does and I’m not accelerating quickly when the car is cold anyways.

My friend, it's the same chassis. My incoming wheels are GT3 widths to fit GT3 size tires. There's zero issues running a slightly wider wheel/tire combo. You're complaining about grip. This is the proper way to solve it.

Why? The N spec cup2s are just one section larger than the stock tires: 245F vs 255F, and 305R vs 315R. Do they not fit on the OEM 20F/21R wheels? I thought several people on this forum have fitted tires one size up with no issues.

Knowing you, I assume you've ordered ultra lightweight magnesium wheels or something. But I'm not sure how that matters for the tire sizes?

Apparently they fit, but bulge out a little. Saw a YouTube video of some guy running the combo on his GTS.
