The "go search" guys
Can we please stop complaining when someone posts a repeat question or discussion on a car topic? It's a car forum so yes, we will discuss PDK vs Manual a million times. So what ? what else is there to talk about in car forum ? The weather ? Also.. the people that send you to search a topic instead of answering the question the OP started are the most annoying people on forums. Just stop and be nice

I agree 100%.
If everyone always used the search function for everything before posting, as the 992.1 gets older, the amount of posts of items would grow smaller and smaller as time goes on.
Plus the search function has its limitations-ie must get wording just right to get responses. But yes, searching gives a broader perspective to one's questions.
Post away rennlisters!!! Always makes for good reading.

For real though, search function on RL is not great. Sometimes I can find what I’m looking for, but it’s not easy.

you can use Google to search an individual site/forum. Just add "site:rennlist.com" to your search string. So something like:
DIY 992 Oil change site:rennlist.com
I agree some folks are suffering from "bitter vet" syndrome. My advice to them is if you are going to invest time in posting, try and be helpful with some links to related threads vs. just trying to shut down the conversation. A lot of newbies didn't grow up on the forums and aren't as familiar with utilizing it as a resource.

This was a thing in 2006 when I first joined RL. Nothing changes.

And I use it all the time - gets answers faster
But what makes me laugh is when someone says “use search” and I type the OP’s question into the terrible search system and 200 threads on everything but the question appear.
