Non refundable Partial payment toward Vehicle.

This seems normal. My local dealer does a $2500 refundable deposit for them to put in a demand order; when the allocation actually comes, you can decline and get a refund on your deposit, decline and wait for another allocation, or if you take the allocation, you have to do a 10% nonrefundable partial payment, less the 2500.

I think everyone is saying deposits are normal. What we are cautioning against is that the vehicle price, associated fees, and required purchases (maybe even required purchase method if they will force financing through PFS) should be outlined when putting down a partial vehicle payment....especially when it's at a dealership that likes "market price"

If you're partially paying for goods or services and never receive said goods or services, you are typically entitled your money back. I'm not an attorney, but every time a dealer says "non-refundable" and you don't get a car for whatever reason, they should be compelled to refund you. Now, they may take their sweet a$$ time doing so, but they should refund you.

OP said this was Porsche of Plano.
This is what they do. They also provide you a sales work-up with all costs.
It’s no big deal and nothing to walk out on an allocation for.
Lots/most of Porsche dealers do the same.
